In answer to the "theft" posts. Firstly, I put a pound in to begin with before I noticed the door open thing. Was that not theft by the company who supplied the machine? In answer to the "fire pub" accusation....been in today, door closed, no mention of yesterday. I may start a new thread where I pose the question of rips/emptiers...are they theft or not? It is already fairly well established that any faults or weakness in the game that can by exploited through normal play are perfectly legitmate. Any external interference with the normal function machine through plugging, tooling, fake coins, fake notes, strimmers, crowbars, electric drills, electronic devices etc are obviously illegal. So I hope that answers your question.

Scamming five quid off a barmaid by making her think you not been paid out when you knew very well it was in test mode is simply a confidence trick. Hardly crime of the century but still a wee bit naughty.

you put a quid in and it didnt register.. now this would be a normal situation, you show the woman, she gives you a £1 from the till and tells her boss, who tells the company, who coult the machine and give the bar back the extra £1..

however, be it £5, £50 or £5000 what you did was wrong, you conned the girl out of £5 from the till.. you might as well learn the latest "change scams" that are going around.

I'm sitting here for the first lesson to begin.

ill tell you one and one only as a reference to what tricks there are to con barkeepers and shopkeepers out of their money..

you have to watch for someone using the till who seems new, but not new enough to be getting watched by a supervisor.. or just someone a bit thick.

wait till they are using the till and it is about to get shut (ie just taken someones change out)
hold two fivers up and ask them to change it for a tenner. they take the 2 fivers off you and go to the till, for this to work you have to be able to see their hands, as soon as they lift the lever-weight in the till shout 'actually can you make it a £20' have a tenner in your hand, out of view just incase, but they will usually look at their hands, two fivers in one hand, a tenner in the other and simply take a £20 out and close the drawer.. £10 up!!!

this is a simple trick and it only works on unsuspecting or inexperienced staff..

there are more complex scams, but posting them on here would probably get the post deleted, me banned and the police getting involved!!

one involves £80 in coins and a £20 note, and when its pulled off you end up with £280 in notes plus the £80 coins... and one or two very very confused barstaff..
