I ask people to consider this one dilemma...

Your friend who lives 200 miles away in a place you never go to, and who you trust 100%, offers you a deal. For you to teach him to play machines (he even says he will buy a panther out of his own money to learn to hit skill) and for that he will give you 50% of his machine income, forever.

Let's see who would play the martyr now.

not wishing to inflame a heated topic any further ,but it seems to me that a few people think they have a god given right to make money from playing that should'nt apply to anyone else who wishes to do the same.

what's next?..............do we close the forum completely off to newbs?

will that help to reassure some players who feel so threatened every time someone new expresses an interest in playing?

This forum doesn't tell newbies how to do aliens/leps.

If a newbie/non player from Kent started doin some of sir raths hits and then turned round and said yeah that pickareel told me how to do these, we'd see a different reaction.

Everyone always says there are far to many players as it is and it's amazing what some obvious idiots who don't appreciate just how good something is get told or even worse tell others.

As I explained in the original post, I have been to that place a number of times, its quiet and the guy decided I was professional because I put in over £20 !! I said I had no idea what he was talking about and had a full time job. Fail to see how anyone would have convinced him otherwise.
From reading many other posts getting banned is a hazard of the job for you pros !!

Lugs, this is exactly what I mean.

We all had to start somewhere. None of us woke up one morning with the skills needed to play for a living.

Have those with a holier than thou stance on here about this disowned the people that got them in the game, for example, as clearly they are a reprehensible character for getting them in the game?

I would bet a lot of money now that most people on here have either taken a mate on a route or got someone else into the game. Which is fine and upto them. But then don't criticise others for doing the same thing.

i wouldn't be massively happy but definitely wouldn't come on here shooting my mouth off or threatening to start doing Norfolk.

I'd get my head down and do my machines even more relentlessly to discourage said individuals and/or find other areas so I can bale out to them if my other stuff is done.

It's not the debate about who has/hasn't taught someone something that I'm bothered about, it's the hypocrisy of others.

Anyway, I thought kesh said he wasn't posting on here any more when he last threw his toys out of the pram?

I'm not holier than thou on this at all!!

All I'm saying is, is that in the past and no doubt in the future we all have agreed that things are different now to what they use to be. Far to many players around as it is.

I don't know Glendale and from his posts he seems a decent enough chap, but I just don't agree with clueing up the clueless(and that's not an insult yo rookie by the way!!)

If we all did that to just one mate who then went and did what rookie did they'd be...........what another 100 people running around doing them. That's not what we want is it?

For the record I bought myself into the game when I was about 7 and just about tall enough to hit the buttons on Walton pier!!!

The only people I play machines with are players, altho I did chase a cash or bust in front of a member of my darts team, who was horrified that I was £30 in in a about 30 seconds!! But it did cost £40 for a £70, so yeah I'm guilty as well. Would I have let him watch me do a grid? Nah cos he's got one in his local that's rather tasty.

Only my opinion, no slagging any one off, no childish insults just my take on the matter. Sir Rath we'll have to agree to disagree I'm afraid. I've got 2 cousins in Kent, who like a gamble but I wouldn't even consider filling them in on anything.

I never played fireballs/pecks. Another player told me star wars yes. I experimented on pie factorys the first time I saw one on clacton pier and was doin them before most cos I figured them out myself. You wanna talk about aliens/leps?? I sat in a few pubs for days experimenting on these way back nobody told me shit on those.

I ask and give out info from and to those in the loop, we all do. If somebody tells me not to say fuck all it goes no further.

I've never claimed to be a genius.

I got my mate into it and he's playing all the time now, even on the same patch as me. I don't care about this 'don't bring new players into it' rubbish, I told him and he's now losing just as much as me every month on them, comfortably.

All the wheel machines (Battle Axe, Golden Dragon etc.) were good in Colchester a few years back. As were JPMs and Spin On It. Six Shooter in Balkerne Gate was always ready.

It was a whole lot better in those days.

Yeah I know u liked those ones(dragons axes etc) and still do!! In those days I sat on project lo-tecs most of the day the only machines that I had an advantage over everyone else. I rarely did pubs until the royal family and vamp/afu clones were about. Looking back tho, after a couple of pints and the profit from a vamp clone it hardly seemed worth it compared to what u can make with a little touch these days. Altho I guess back in those days there wasn't a ratio of 10-1 against dond clones!!

I never did jpm's either, another manu u liked!! Altho from what I hear about them I missed out there! Even on what seems like such tiny £15 pots.
