Ten years ago if you had a fault with your computer, an engineer would come around and have a look, now they just dial in remotely with a programme like PC Anywhere and sort it.
Same thing with phones. I work for a telephone integrator and 93% of faults are now done remotely.
Surely, the next step is for AWP's to be monitored and updated in real time, any major percentage deviations be flagged up and investigated and maybe games being removed in minutes if there is a "fault" ie rip on these and millions more of those 20 line monstrosities that you see everywhere the standard.

Roulette free since December 2011.
there will be info for whatever machines are out, wether it awp, b3, quiz or roulette.
if awp's fcuk off the bent programmers will get a job programming roulette and put stuff on it.
so if you get info quick you should be allright if they playables get fucked off coz you will still have rippables.
i cant see anything changing in the future but thats me.

Fully agree!! this will always be a way of £££ always be tricks even if its randoms left as they still have to work to a % over time!!silent g wrote:there will be info for whatever machines are out, wether it awp, b3, quiz or roulette.

if they built a stable and reliable: operating system, credit acceptor (be it coins or notes or whatever) payout system, random sequence generator and a cab with no faults... you wouldnt be able to influence the game at all, plus a networked control center to monitor the machines
addicts would still play, punters would still play and us lot/you lot/whoever would be buggered.
the cabinets/ operating systems would have to be standard format, the reason this isnt in place already is because of the different companies using different hardware... but if gamestec only had 1 type of cabinet they could make a system where all machines were hooked up...

Oh dear, people seem pretty stupid as to this, percentages on random games are given as an AVERAGE, not something the machine has any intention of trying to keep to.anfield road wrote:Fully agree!! this will always be a way of £££ always be tricks even if its randoms left as they still have to work to a % over time!!silent g wrote:there will be info for whatever machines are out, wether it awp, b3, quiz or roulette.

Let me give u an example you could own 1000 roulette terminals in bookies, on a RANDOM game with a percentage of 97.3% ie. roulette.
15 of them might pay 95% or less in the LONG LONG run I mean say £10million + played through
970 of them will pay between 95.3 - 99.3 % in the LONG LONG run.
15 of them might pay 99.5% + in the LONG LONG run
Those that have paid 99.5% + in the LONG LONG run will not play any different to those that have paid 95% or less, its still the same random game with the same odds.
For ease of thought for some of you more simple minded, think over 1000 of such "random" game, the percentage will average to the stated %, one particular cabinet will drift up or down, and it has no intention of trying to reach the stated average, as its RANDOM!!!!
As an aside there are no possible profitable opportunities from random games other than silly things like the old bfm 500 emptier where u put 10p in for a £2 credit... any such potential opportunities for this in the future are very slim.
Random games won't go into pubs en masse anyhow, as they arent popular in the pub sector as they are lotech games. Although IMO Hitech games will be too controlled and offer the skilled player a VERY small to NON EXISTANT edge over normal players, which will kill of pro players upto those who get super quick info on stuff that is not a playing method but an emptier, and anyone getting it lower down will have 1-2 days to make effectively pennies on it...

very well explained Ob .
when i worked in an arcade a couple of the s16's that we had had used to pay over 100 % long term .... now i don't mean you could have stayed on them 24/7 for a slow milk because they used to go on the take for long sessions aswell.
probably one of the main reasons they were mainly switched back to compensated?
back on topic , i reckon we'll always have hi-tech percentage based games with 'some' skill features ,as that's what people like .........................and other people will still have their lo-tech as that's what they like...........................and the rest will still have their b3 and roulette etc ,but i doubt they'll be in drinking establishments other than casinos otherwise every arcade in the country would be up in arms and demanding a drinks license.

link up the machines and have a cashbox count and this would set alarms off everywhere....ob wrote:As an aside there are no possible profitable opportunities from random games other than silly things like the old bfm 500 emptier where u put 10p in for a £2 credit... any such potential opportunities for this in the future are very slim.
i might pitch my idea to barcrest...

Me and mate ran a pub crawl this week which involved trying out the £70 jackpots for the first time. (our era was £25 jp). We found that playability has reduced, with board costs going through the roof. Plus, a couple of the pubs had those video fruits, a.k.a. "Juice" machines. We played two of those which had an exact copy of DOND's Beat The Banker. While it's essentially the same game, it doesn't feel like playing the real fruit machine. We both agreed that we prefer the feel of physical buttons and seeing the mechanical parts moving behind the glass. I dunno really. I think that some people will embrace video AWPs while others will be luddites like me, but I think that video AWPs will be becoming mainstream. Touch screen is great for quiz machines though, and can-you-spot-the-difference type games.
