Fruit machines in Northern Ireland?

Post by Guest »

Was in NI for all last week and only one pub (went to about 15 in all) I visited had fruit machines in, Bling King Crazy and Hellraiser (both £25 JPT, never seen either of these before). Even at the airport I didn't see any. Anyway, I tried £2 in both and came away with nowt (no four leaf clovers in sight!), but when I came back to the UK I stuck 50p in a 10p/£5 Stink King Rich (I think it was a Red, never seen it or played it before) and the JPT rolled in without warning on the fourth spin! Had the choice of collecting or a hi-lo gamble, but I collected as I had an 8 on the number reel. One thing I've noticed with Northern Ireland is that most of the pubs tend to have these 10p play / £25 Jackpot poker machines instead of fruits.

I just spent a week over in NI. Didn't play many machines, but there are plenty about if you look at them. Most of the pubs in the centre of Belfast have 'em, although the less salubrious pubs tend to stick to those god-awful poker machines.

Not sure which airport you flew out of, but Belfast International (nowhere near Belfast) certainly has an arcade, and Belfast City airport has a pub which I think had one.

Incidentally, Belfast City airport is now called George Best Belfast City airport. Now I'm not doubting that he was a genius footballer, but why name the local airport after an alcoholic wifebeater? When Alex Higgins pops his clogs, are we going to be naming the other airport after him?

SKR is a red.....it should have swapped the number for you when you got onto the board though. I would have gambled it - these £5 onse can do £25+ on the top!

No, it didn't offer me any swap, it was literally offering either to collect the JPT or hi-lo gamble on an 8.

Plus this is the first time I have ever seen a fruit machine spin in a Jackpot whilst on the reels, in the past I've had them through features. Didn't tell me to hold anything or warn that a JPT was near, just spun it in on the 4th go. Speaking of Jackpots, today I had a JPT spin in through Mystery Win on Maygay's London Underground (10p/£5) in a cafe.

I flew into and out of Belfast City from London Stansted with Air Berlin as they had cheap flights. (The announcements are done in German first, and then the English one keeps switching between the languages between sentences! )
