Whilst the money was stupendous throughout my twenties, I could have made so much more of, and indeed with, my time.
Sorry lads, understand your point but without doing this your life might have turned out crap! We all have dreams but be gratefull for the life these shitty things have allowed us! I wouldnt have fuck all without what ive earned!
I accept the path I've taken in the material sense. Money, half decent car, and the fact that I can help out my sister and close friends. And to be honest, the satisfaction I have knowing I donate to a worthy charity each month.

But it's more than that.

Soon, I will stop. (I've said this for the last fifteen years or so, but know that I will have to sometime).

There's more to life than buttons, coins and barrings!

This one here! is where it all started for me!! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Old_f ... -08-06.jpg

How the hell this pile of shit got me hooked, i don't know!!

I also regret the first 10p in them, always makes u think, if i would have devoted as much time to other things, like getting a career!!
Seemed like gambling consumed my life for an eternity!!

Had some fun though!! 8)

EDIT

Does anyone remember the noise on the super nudge gamblers?? when u had nudges? lol how the fruits have changed!

First machine I ever put a coin in was called Golden Shot. 2p a go, £1 jackpot. Had a target in the middle of it. Lucky ladys and fruitswap were favourites of mine, as were Aladdins Caves etc. Everything seemed fun back then. Anyone remember the old 10p tokens?

I remember Each Way Nudger (one of the first £1 jackpot/5p play) and even older bell fruits that gave 5 nudges for 50p JP's. This must have been about 1976  Also Ace's sidewinder (first video fruit - 4 reeler).

Cant remember the name of it but it was a clubber that was in the hallway of my wife's parents house when I was courting her.

Must have cycled literally thousands through it and never got near the jackpot.

It had some kind of cat theme with 5 different cat symbols for the top IIRC

i remember vaguely playing 1p £1 jp , big round mustard yellow and red button , varieties .

vague at best.

but really remember with more fondness , cutting my teeth on the likes of rat race, master spy, fruit cracker, line up, stop n skip , step n flip , kings n queens , quick step, copperama, ace chace ,

days of innocence , mispent youth etc ,,,,,,,,,,crappy c16 , c64 , spectrum conversions of my favourite 10p guzzlers. being skint from week to week, gambling my bus fayre home , the occasional mega mega mega massive £8 up day ,and feeling like king of the arcade infront of jelous bik n nigel lol ,,,,,,, then foolishly squandering it the next day etc lol and looking a twat.

as to the topic of ,,,,,, '' would you do it different ?''

well ,,,,,,,,, no ,,,,,,,,,,, never ,,,,,,,, and no how ,,,, no matterwhat

since the £10 all cash days

ive lived the life of riley , never having to save up for the latest gadget etc , always got money in my pocket ,etc ,,,,,,,,,,, never had to work for the man etc ,,,,,,,,, and can get my lazy fat arse out of bed when i feel like it.

looking at the alternative , the conventional job ,,,,,,,,,, being part of the system etc ,,,,,,,, no thanks
Little discipline = BIG issue
