Hi all,
i have a maygay stepping stones machine which wont power-up( no lights or display on the outside at all), and you can here a faint alarm when switched on.
i have posted previously but have recently found a pdf online which allows me to explain my problem better,
the boards are epoch,
Firstly all leds are lit on my powerbox,
on the mpu board ld 3,4,and 5 are on as they should be,
ld1 is on but is constant when according to the manual should be flashing , does this mean the board hasent booted?
ld2 dosent light at all, does this mean the software isnt running?
on the lamp board the led is off.
Finally the previous owner removed the game cards before putting them back to try and solve this problem, however he bent a few pins and while i fixed this i noticed that he had broken two individual pins. i have made sure all pins are connected to their individual holes and the two broken ones are connected as best i can. Would this cause any of the problems ive mentioned?
i was going to order the full kit of eggy777 on ebay, just wanted to make sure that doing so would solve my problem as it will cost 30-40 pound and i can get a working machine for 80-100 pound.
thanks in advance

hi mate, ive got a epoch tech manual with my machine, and ld2 not lighting definetely means the software is not running.
Is there any alarm codes on the machine when you hear the alarm?
As ive got the tech book, its got a full list of alarm codes.
If some of the pins are broken on the boards, it would cause problems, even if youve managed to connect them. personaly i would try another board etc and see where it gets you, at least if you do manage to fix the original board, you would have some spares. epoch tech isn't the best out there.

hi mate sorry for the delay,
according to my manual for my machine, this is what should happen regarding power up:-
"on power up ld3 4 &5 illuminate first to show that voltage is present, along with ld1 which shows the board has booted up, when ld2 lights this shows the software is running. (ld6 is not required in this machine)
the led's are an indication of error and should all be on in normal conditions(except ld6) until an error occurs. there is a voltage error if 3,4 and 5 don't light, ld2 not on shows the software is not running, and ld1 not lit indicates the board has not booted properly"
so it sounds as theres a problem with your mpu board, so you may need a new one, ebay have got a few for sale on there, i bought myself a spare for about £15. hope that helps you somewhat mate!
