Post by mr cheese »

Why do we all use this term? I took a 2k loss last wk since then i have made 480,Still down 1520 from previous week but if i hadnt spent it i would be up 480,So in theory i will never claw it back,or am i just waffling.... :D

I think most people talk about things like this on a day to day basis. All losses from the previous day are magically forgotten about.
The people who bet on horses seem to be worst for it. A guy I know sulkenly says "I lost £xxx today" but the next day when he ends up being £20 in profit he acts like he won the lottery then when someone points out yesterdays loss and combines it with todays win and says "That means you're still £xxx down" They get the reply of "That was yesterday, it doesn't matter now." :?
Sex is not the answer.
Sex is the question.
"Yes" is the answer!

I guess it's a funny psychological thing really. I'd hazard that well over 50% of the people on this board are down 'overall', but the good days patch over the bad ones. That's the whole hook with gambling, I suppose.
"And do you ever contradict yourself, Minister?" "Well, yes and no..."

You can't afford to adopt the 'Chase Mentality' in life.

Otherwise i'd be going home everyday thinking; "Right thats another couple of hundred i've made back, now i'm only £84632653367637536736 down on roulette.
