I went into an arcade a month or so back and played a couple of fruits, then the staff came over to me with a notepad and asked for ID.

"Come of it!" I said, "I'm 32!"

"Doesn't matter" she says, "This is a members only arcade!"

WTF?!

ive always wanted to open an arcade with just £5 jackpots in it,

kids section with reasonably fair grabbing machines and arcade games/stackas etc.. set on highest win frequency but with prizes in sweets etc that the RRP is more or less the same as the stake

over 18's section with ONLY £5 /£8 jackpots in it,

charge an entry fee for the over 18's of £5 a day or a monthly pass for £50, all games set to 98 or 99 percent...

put a sign up stating how much the machines took in the last 7 days and another sign stating the entry fee paid for the fairness of the games..

literally an amusement arcade,

id ban sharks, or anyone who took the piss, but it'd give people a chance to play the games and enjoy it...

what realisticly is the most you could lose on a 10p play machine set to 99 percent payout in a day?

It a fucking joke, as soon a ya walk in the place they are on ya like a fly is round shit. Sometimes ya don't want to win, cos if ya do ya going to get barred. That why I'm barred from all arcades with in my area. Cunts :x

You'd not make enough money.

£5'ers on 99%? You could sit on one all day with about a fiver!!

You'd need thousands of them and thousands of people in just to cover the electric!!

I'd pop in for a punt tho!!

The fact is, to play the selection of 'bigger' machines in an arcade, you need a float of £10,000 to guarantee a full day's entertainment.

In the old days (£10 jackpot days) £500 was enough (if you didn't have a clue)

Over say 13 years, the float you need has increased twenty fold, but yet the jackpots have increased fifty fold. That's VALUE FOR MONEY! STICK WITH THE ARCADES!!!

Ok your rose tinted versus my dog shit covered spectacles.

In 1998 (12 years ago) someone lost £450 in a day on Crystal Dome (£10 cash jackpot) In Thomas's Amusements, Leicester High Street. Hence my £500 float figure as that was the highest loss per day I was aware of during that era. A clueling/muntle such as myself would expect to lose £100 if they wanted a bit of a meaty session. £200 was a bit of a disaster. £50 was palletable and any win was a bloody miracle, or it felt like it at times.

Quicksilver = Winners, Silvers ?

Just checking as im sure that Winners was bought out recently along with Silvers?

Also not sure if anyone noticed all Ladbrokes Gaming Zones Closed a while back. :( Was making good money in there too, aparently they were losing £1k a week since they opened lol ouch.

all games set to 98 or 99 percent...

highest you can set a machine is 96%

arcades r usualy quite good for percentages in my neck of the woods

some arcades with cat C hi-techs from 86 - 88
With dil 8 on game card on. (barcrest MPU5) (for incresed % on top stake)

(had one of the service engineers show me.)

lo-techs even higher,

i even know a arcade with a king pots b3 on 94 and a triple7 RRPOG on 96!

they do attract alot of other players tho, great if you can beet them to it

Sorry to be pedantic, but you can set most AWPs to 98%, some even to 99%.
