There are 100 boxes, divided into 10 boxes with 25p, 50p, 75p, £1, £2, £3, £4, £5, £10 and £20 hidden in them. You pick a box, that eliminates the other 9 with the same value, and so on till only the last group of ten remains (you sometimes get a bale out offer when 50 remain.) In normal play your final box will be between £2-£10, but I've had all the others except the 25p. Average final box value is £3-4.

I refer you to my post in this thread of 20 May last year.cp999 wrote:A friend reports having reached the 1m points on Golden Boot II (and a 25p "win" on 1 vs 100.)
Unfortunately nobody seemed too bothered whether I hit the jackpot or not, so there was no next installment. But if my memory serves me correctly, the game I refer to was in fact a double or nothing too far, but I persevered and hit the jackpot a couple of games later (not all the interim games were as friendly though, I recall).
Never had less than £2 on 1v100, but did have my first jackpot a couple of months ago.
Good stuff re the GBII jackpots - I've long given up on this. Lowest prize I've had on 1v100 is 75p. I suspect the sub-£2 prizes are the sign that someone has beaten the spoilers in the opening section - I had to navigate six or seven successfully on my 75p game. That is to say, a sub-£2 win is the sign of a good player (should say I've only done this once).

I got a 50p win on 100-1 last week and was in such a state of shock that I forgot to get a photo of it to prove to my mate who is sceptical that such a thing exists.
For the record I've NEVER managed a £20.00 in over two years of playing the game and take my proverbial hat off to anyone who has managed it.

Winning the £20 isn't a sign of ability; just a sign you've found one that is absolutely stuffed. On every occasion it's happened to me there have been no hard questions and 20+ players have been eliminated by a single question at some point in the game. Winning <£1 on the other hand, paradoxically, is a greater achievement.

Gotta be good to win sub £1. I've had a couple fo 75p's but to be honest, as Grecian says, the writing is on the wall long before you get there in terms of difficulty.
Same with Monopoly in a lot of ways. If you get qualify when the questions are against you, expect it to be the Old Kent Road when you get there.

Whilst I completely accept the second part of your thesis (highlighted). I've played several where I've had back to back wins...£4, £5, etc. but never a £20.00. How full does it have to be to pay out a £20.00 JP? Most I've had is £16.00 in four games.

I can't understate how easy it's made it any time I've won a £20. Probably no more than a dozen questions and they were all "red ball" questions if you get my drift. No idea how the game can end up that stuffed.tonkarentino wrote:Whilst I completely accept the second part of your thesis (highlighted).
