Played WU in Norwich today. The following three scores were my bests - see if you can spot the difference:

Wetherspoons (Bell Hotel) - Machine 1: 1913
Machine 2: 1913
Imagine: 1913

As the third score appeared, I wondered if there was some kind of cosmic significance...

distraught:
OLIGOMENORRHOEA is not allowed
AMENORRHOEA is but that is not nearly as elegant

Dragged my brother out today and achieved a new WORLD RECORD, at the PLAYHOUSE, COLCHESTER.

2135 (ARG, SRG) 8) 8)

Using the '100 point rule' and helped along by EMBEZZLING (400pts), we shattered the old mark.

Here's the pic ('S' is my bro'):

Notice only 26 words made too... :D

Went word gaming in Southend today. Someone by the name of BEN had already gone around all the pubs assiduously taking the top scores on WU and WW (which I proceeded to take off his hands). This is the only instance of whole town quizzing gangsterism that I have encountered (apart from us). There also seems to have been minor Word Upping turf wars between rival crews (with S M and AVI involved).

i found a machine near trafalgar square where £1 was at 750. i was a little drunk so not running very efficiently anyhow it took me eight goes until i managed to clear it (only 1787). it went up to £10 and the collect screen said "!!!!!!!!!!JACKPOT!!!!!!!!!" i thought it was (at least theroetically) possible to get £20 still. :? :

Sum Up third place now 3052 (Portland Arms, Cambridge).
I really must make a proper effort to see how high I can push it, as opposed to idly playing between WU bouts.

No decent WU scores today though, getting back in practice... almost got TONSILECTOMY (312), but bottled it and lost the O. Also had JUXTAPOSITI but no O nearby (got JUXTAPOSED 280 instead). Not a good day for me and the O's. Best word of the day was FRIZZLED 288, but it's not very elegant.

A personal best for me (on my own, not with other VB crew) today on WU: 1931 Cambridge Arms.

Also had MOZZAR and LLA set up but no useable E. Bastard.
