mem reset error on dungeons n dragqueens what to do????

Just bought this machine and when turned on it comes up with 4.2 mem reset error. What can i do to cure it?
Once it's alarmed if i turn it off then back on it does'nt alarm.

wait for the alarm to stop, turn it off, turn it on... leave it on... fixed?

Needs a new battery by the sounds of it.

But if you leave it turned on for several hours constantly, or perhaps longer if you can, then the batterry may recharge itself sufficiently enough to stop triggering the alarm.
Problem with a duff battery is that the machine does not "remember" where it's at ~ for example, it may not remember that it paid the jackppot out last time it was turned on, and pay it out again.
If the battery is so bad though, that the contents of it are about to leak out all over your circuit boards, then you should seriously start thinking about removing/replacing it. The fruitie will play as normal without a battery, but will just have the memory of a goldfish.
