Indeed. Hard to imagine they were losing money on it.
I'm not so sure. I think that the newer, stingier payout structure may have been counter-productive. I'm thinking now about people who would be pleased with a 6-800 score. Not everyone is a walking thesaurus after all. And they want rewarding with the odd quid now and then. The way it whacks up from 800 for a quid then 1500 next game for a quid and then crawling down after about 20 games towards something the mediocre player could happily achieve is too harsh.
Compare that with the previous structure -750 for a quid, then it would shoot up to 1150 then a few games of that and then it would throw you a 750 for a quid again. And so on. Now I'm sure all this means nothing to the walking t's out there, but I guess I'm speaking for the cheerfully mediocre...
I'm reserving judgment until I see it gone with my own eyes. This game has a habit of disappearing for short spells then reappearing again. Maybe it will come back as Word Sap.
Shit game. New name.
Stupid punters. Telly all the week, screw the wife Saturday
STOP IT NOW! :x
Otherwise we will have yet another thread dedicated to that pap game.
Its gone. Get over it. Move on. Nothing to see here. Finished. Expired. Terminated.

I watched 'Electric Dreams' on BBC4 tonight, all about the 1980s and remembered the Sinclair Spectrum with fond memories. It was great in its day, but the world has moved on. My mobile phone has better games than it did. Just let go..... you will feel so much better in the end.
I do think the game is looking dated nowadays and needs perhaps a revamp in graphics but i believe Two Way Games own the rights to it and are not bothered about doing another version. R.I.P Word Up
