Sigh, and I thought I was sad for knowing these.

I do enjoy it though where in the first round you do bedroom and it gives you an empty 4 letter word. Being able to type in WHIP whilst giving the machine the finger always feels good :)

I had CLICK HERE TO RETURN TO MAIN MENU on the Chinese Takeaway category today. Straight away I knew what it was from reading on here. Could this be some kind of hint to unlock a cheat?

Nope - from my very limited amount of insider knowledge I can confirm this was a human error, the technical term for which is I believe "a balls-up".

Well, I'm not a hardened quizzer, nor am I much cop, but along with a mate who is a fan of Stephen King and Terry Pratchett, we managed to play on Hex Maniac for a good hour last night on the same pound coin. £1 win, lose, £2 win, lose, lose, lose, £1 win, lose, £2 win... you get the idea.

Things In The Bedroom: BEDBUGS. I kid you not.

It appears to me that learning every Formula 1 team should be doable for little effort and time consumption. I was gubbed by several teams I'd never heard of before. Can't be that many?

I don't play Hex, but Formula One teams is a surprisingly large category. Particularly before the mid-1990s, there were a lot of very average teams competing, none of whom are easily memorable now - from memory in the late 80s there were something like 20 teams and some teams had to pre-qualify (i.e. qualify to get into qualifying). There's a question on Caesar's Palace about "which of these was a Formula One team" and they are in the main pretty tough. If you're interested in learning them, Wikipedia has very extensive stuff on Formula One, which may help.

I looked into this once and there were lots of old team names made up of initials:

AFM
AGS
ATS
BAR
BRM
BRP
EMW
ENB
ERA
Fry
HWM
JBW
LDS
LEC
RAM

So yes, not very memorable.

(Also similar numbers of four- five- and six-letter answers.)

Rial, Coloni, Wolf, Zakspeed, Osella, March, Leyton House, Toleman, Lola, Minardi, Tyrell, Pacific.

All these teams I have seen in the game.

The other day, I got £4 on £1 stake. Then played on 50p and the £1 was 3 away. Interesting!!

This game played like Bullseye for a while on £1 play i.e £1 in £2 out , repeat a few times until it blocks you , nothing exciting but £4 or £5 profit for not much work , however recently it has it's equivalent of a 701 or 801 target , nothing to gain in the way of a bonus or prize for 10 puzzles or more - its unusual to have a prize in sight now , thats for sure - the format means that it is possible to work out the answer even if you have never heard of it , although some of the answers are dodgy of course - for instance , hobbies = ' telling stories ' , ffs!
