I hate that as well, you get on the board, get an extra life while on say a 10, go lower, it rolls an 11 and extra life is gone, so you go lower, and it rolls a 12, dead.
And all that for when there wasnt even a win there anyway, just nudges for fk all, thats when its annoying, why kill you when theres nothing to get anyway?

It's very hard to say. Sometimes a game on 92% can offer something resembling interesting, whilst its 70% counterpart is pure poo. A measure of a good game is one which can provide a reasonable level of entertainment whilst taking 30% for the owner.
Al Murray on 92% in a local arcade plays a very fair game and doesn't feel like a risky profile. It's safe and you can dive in for a quick bite or play it out if you've the time and inclination.
I floated through the notorious L.F.E the other day and unfortunately played Oche*3 on 70% on £1/play...OH MY GOD what an abomination. This is a FOUL game. I know a couple of you have moaned about SW/RR hi-techs on £70, they're not brilliant on 70% but there are worse games out there in my opinion. Anyway it had about £36 off me before I remembered where I was and what the score was. It has been a while since I've played a non emptiable/very playable in a services and wowser, the mindset required (similar to Blackpool arcades!) soon came flooding back.
£70 Oche is grim. NO shot offerred on feature entry and rock solid crapulence all the way.
So let's throw that into the mix. My other four machines are chosen based on poor playability. For that I mean low entertainment, frustration and little chance of enticing either puntling or pro.
1) Oche*3, chipped on £70 jackpot. It's nice on 92% in Showboat, but most machines aren't on 92%. On 70% which is closer to the % intended, it's horrible. Stay away from £1/play on 70%, double shots doesn't make up for it. Try 25p play.
2) Random Rainbow Riches on Triple 777. A dreadful lumpy profile meant that this £35 jackpot on ANY 3.x version could take £500 from you in COLD BLOOD and offer very little back. Piss poor value.
3) Video Cops 'n Robbers (chipped obviously), I understand there are two chips out, I'm on about the one which completely blocks keys until it's ready to GATW. Cowardly and extremely boring.
4) Cash Attack (p3) - essentially a £3 jackpot machine. Pointless, utterly, utterly pointless. You might get a £3 board off a quid, that's it. My £5 Flashback is better than that.
5) Cms Captain Jack. About 95% of the percentage is made up of 'wins' that roughly equate to your total stake. A dire game that is all about playing for the full screen(s). Watching paint dry is what this game is, the one redeeming feature is the over Carribeany music.
Five is a small number for every machine ever made. My choices are rather recent and I'm sure there are plenty of oldies that I can remove the rose tinting from and also wedge in here. That'll do for now anyhow.

i got one it was one of my favorites till its last visit
blues boys 5p £4 jp
ok it was probly balls up inside to do this but let me explain
1st time i saw it £1 in for old times sake didnt get anything but what do you expect for 5p play
2nd visit its dropping!!! lmao so £3 in for the video i got of it givin JP and repeating twice!!! £12 out lovely lol
3rd visit im with a m8 and im about £40 up so try a quid init and its droppin!!! woo hoo lol the result was THIRTYFIVEPOUND IN!!!! without a win or a board!!!!!!!! i give up onit so my m8 puts another £6 in without a win or a board LMAO ok ok i will admit its a good little machine for 5p play when it works properly
the 2nd one is i think it was called Treasure Quest it looked just like treasure trail (love this) but looks more tacky an arcade used to have this and as soon as you got to £3 it would kill you it never repeated the JP ok you could get £3 easyly but this would kill it but he had it for a year and it only paid JP (the whole 5er) 3 times lmao
3rd up is Roller coaster not the old classic which i think was JPM or something but i found a newer looking one and got test your strengh to find 4 bulbs out with no sound lol so went for the top took about £15 with mostly stright dead boards to give a top for..... £4!!!! what gash
4th POKER "4 head" face ok it gives boards now and then but 95% of features are crap even when red and i got a RED STREAK on the £70 version for............ £6!!!!!!
5th would be phycho cash beast on £5jp the ones with 20p win they are totally boring sometimes wanting to eat £10 for boards the ones with £1 lowest win have seen take £15 for boards on 10p play to give +2 nudges + 1 nudge game over

Surprised partly at some of the IJ2 comments. Mind you think higher percentage, knocking back boards, holding super hold, minis two nudge off line for the nudge onto superboard when due, particularly good if jack, trip, mel or whatever it was there.
Collect prize on Extra life is a Cardinal Sin, 4 reeler does this, VERY ANNOYING. I should imagine Take The Piece can do it as well.
If IJ2 lost the long SFX (fake/poor MC impersonation, alas still resplendent in Mazooma's test unit 'blow the bloody doors off' clone of IYS I think)
Great on 90% again and I'm shoving SCf to the side for one minute. The every credit dump was part of the charm but on low %s BM was pretty much £25 guaranteed, not that you'd ever force for it, maybe once in a a blue moon get it gifted on super board.
In services these were 'orrible though. Easy to get sucked in and fiverised to death on SCf. Frustrating games. Lol @ reel spinning around ten times. Sometimes it'd just do that out of no where, say you were saving up nudges for a superfeature, so that you could get skill again for mini and then have reserve nudge to get back on, so not on the block but @@@@ @@@@@ @@@@@@@@ million spins and roll even death etc
That said I once got £12 off SOUND AS A POUND upgrade in Corley.
Pounds of the Baskervilles was a cracking game in Showboat as was IJ2 down thingymy.
I actually put £1 in this game today(!) on £5 jackpot and got my £1 back. £5 version = board every £2-£4, never seen it streak, can it streak?
imo logopolis being a bit nice about that gamble, even on high %s and assuming not gambling into £4+, 2s and 11s death felt higher than 50% to me.
For me it's TIJ1 all the way.

it sucks lol. not a fan of hi-low machines but some arnt too bad, but this ones crap. so boring and kills very quickly. just dont like it. get a more enjoyable game off something like crazy chair, even if it does block at £3 all the time. atleast the DOND boards offer something interesting.gmckee03 wrote:Dude_se whats wrong with wiyb? i actually like CYDI and the clones. always offer me a cheap board and are not afraid to offer £4+. the features arnt too bad too (some of them).

Yeah I can see where you're coming from with some of the gameplay on this machine. There was a certain setup where if you got on the super board then it was very often 1 move and flat battery!! Jackpot mini, melon mini, red 7 mini was the deathly setup.Mystery_Plum wrote:The 2 or 11 gamble felt like a 50/50 shot for me - maybe I was just extremely unlucky. I stand by my comments though - how the fuck Maygay sold so many of these I'll never know.logopolis wrote:Have to disagree with Italian Job 2.
Only the 3rd reel would come back in roughly the same place if you held the other 2.
It was rare to lose when gambling on a win if the number was 2 or 11.
In this day and age there is no excuse whatsoever for being able to lose on the feature board on your first move. Nor is it in any way acceptable to be able to get kicked out of the superboard on your first press, but this game managed to be able to do both of these things. Also an Extra Life could be lost straight away on the next move, and you could also get 'Collect Prize' while you had an Extra Life, which is one of the most annoying things a fruit machine can do.
The most tragic thing of all was that Maygay thought that this was a successful recipe for the future, which resulted in games such as Trivial Pursuit and Bar Trekkin', none of which had any redeeming qualities.

They're disappearing now, mostly replaced by 5 Liners. Anyway, as there's obviously an emptier or very good method, could you pm me the emptier as soon as possible please? I have a £70 Rainbow Riches in my local as well, so please, please, may I have that emptier please?
I do play these, but only for beer money, I would love, absolutely love, to know the emptier. Ah I've got it! Just a guess, but if it's right, I do apologise.
Play for Death Star only on £1 play, when it gives £8 and offers repeat change stake and play a credit, change back to £1/play, that Death Star will have been free.
Failing that I've got an even better emptier for this machine, which MUST be the emptier.
Sorry for posting that, it sounds so convincing, it MUST be the emptier and if it isn't, well, then there is something wrong with the fabric of life itself and FOBTs are definitely rigged.
Cheers and I promise not to tell anyone if you tell me the actual proper emptier which is better than my emptier, not only that, I will Paypal you 47.5% of the profit made.
Cheers in advance for the emptier that will be in my inbox by this time tomorrow,
Cheers,
JG

worst barely playable bollocks ever .
new york , new york ,,,,,,,, it should have been called 4 quid , 4 quid ,,,,,,, as every feature paid a max of 4 quid (except when red or broke for the roll , obviously ) . even the top one.
absolutely toss .
and possibly the only dropped bollock from maygay in an otherwise era of sublime greatness .
