[quote="Matt Vinyl"]That 'Deal' you're talking about is 'It's Your Show' and I can confirm that on £70 upgrade it is SHOCKING!!!
My list would be:
1. Empire's Reel or No Reel
2. Italian Job (Edmonds' Sponsored Edition)
3. Barcrest's Open The Box (£35 AWP)
4. BFG's Wheel of Wealth
5. Rainbow Riches / Star Wars (£70 Version)
It's surprisingly difficult to remember 'guff' machines - I guess because we would've played the so little! I'm sure there's worse than I've listed, for a start! ]
..gotta be playin dem reels on 10p stake....believe blud!!

Here's my worst 5 games -
Who Dares Wins (BFM) - This £15er from 9 or 10 years ago was incredibly frustrating to play, with crap features and no redeeming qualities whatsoever. There wasn't even a bonus at trail position 4 for Christ's sake...
Las Vegas Strip (Barcrest) - This £10 all cash game set a benchmark in pointless £1 boards and was very unresponsive to forcing. The last few squares on the board were a minefield of losing opportunities and you would be blown out 9 times out of 10 which was pointless because the top feature would sometimes go for 4 pounds. I saw one of these get smashed in Mr B's in Weston-super-Mare once and enjoyed every minute of it.
Dancing Diamonds (BWB) - On 20p play £8 tokens this game offered very limited gameplay coupled with the chance to empty your pockets on nearly every occasion. It ruined my day a number of times, turning £150+ hard grafts into losses. It played so badly for so long I often wondered whether it made it's percentage at all. Bruised fists anyone?
Coronation Street £25 - (MayGay) - I've never seen a game make an obvious £2 board last so long. Round the board ten times, £2 max win offered, round again, extra life, lose extra life next move, la-la-la...game over. Massive reel pauses, 1 nudge next and the reels come back in how they were, £6 for a board no matter how ready...do (did) MayGay really think this was going to entertain players?
JG edit: I don't know what Maygay thought, but I'm still forcing the one in LFE that I started forcing about four years ago, maybe I'll get Fred's Meaty Roll before I die, maybe not, perhaps that's the fun.
The Italian Job 2 - (Maygay)
Fucking awful game. Shite gameplay, horrible losing-game counts, one-move boards - absolutely fucking disgusting machine. By far my least favourite, and I've played a lot of games over the years.
Never mind the Crossfire trick or the cyclic streak that comes round every now and again - this was pure filth of the highest order if you look past that. I'd love to see one of these smashed up with a hammer and then burned.
Example of fantastic gameplay -
£1 in - fuck all
£2 in - Stoppa Nudge - you hit 1 nudge for fuck all
£3 in - fuck all
£4 in - Super Hold - fuck all there, hold two features, other reel comes back in the same place - fuck all
£5 in - You either get a win on a 2 or 11, hi-lo gamble loses - fuck all, or you get the feature, press start, the number reel goes round ten times, for a 4 or 11, mystery, game over - fuck all.
Repeat until you lose the will to live...
I'll say it again -
FUCKING DISGUSTING FILTH! I think one place where Maygay went wrong with this was to include a dump in the profile. This wasn't necessary as they could have given this money away on the top, but because money was being stashed away the game never felt like it was playing well. It was sort of a mis-direction - advertising big wins on the feature with the potential of 60-70 tops but never actually doing it.
The worst thing for me was the fact that you felt you could lose on the board every time you moved - there was no grace or comfort-zone at all, and no matter how ready the game was it was the same 4 or 5 quid in for the next board, whether you took a win last time or not.

The 2 or 11 gamble felt like a 50/50 shot for me - maybe I was just extremely unlucky. I stand by my comments though - how the fuck Maygay sold so many of these I'll never know.logopolis wrote:Have to disagree with Italian Job 2.
Only the 3rd reel would come back in roughly the same place if you held the other 2.
It was rare to lose when gambling on a win if the number was 2 or 11.
In this day and age there is no excuse whatsoever for being able to lose on the feature board on your first move. Nor is it in any way acceptable to be able to get kicked out of the superboard on your first press, but this game managed to be able to do both of these things. Also an Extra Life could be lost straight away on the next move, and you could also get 'Collect Prize' while you had an Extra Life, which is one of the most annoying things a fruit machine can do.
The most tragic thing of all was that Maygay thought that this was a successful recipe for the future, which resulted in games such as Trivial Pursuit and Bar Trekkin', none of which had any redeeming qualities.
