Not the best move but you should get away with it. A least it wasn't WD40!
Boards should generally only be cleaned with Isopropyl Alcohol or, where there has been leakage of a battery, vinegar (to neutralise the alkali) and then water. If water has been used then the board must be thoroughly dried using gentle heat from a radiator, hairdryer etc.
The problem with the old blue (NiCad) batteries is that as well as simply leaking, they could "gas out" releasing a corrosive alkaline gas with the ability to damage larger areas of the board!
As long as none of your components have green legs then you are probably ok.
