I've had a similar thing happen on Big Brain Cash Train. I was playing it on an Itbox 65 in a local pub, and a lot of the text was scrambled in a similar way. Not all of it, but quite a lot of it. The wordsearches were only really beatable by hints or by seeing words in the grid (the grid was correct but the words on the side were scrambled) but since I knew how to play all the games, most of the games were still ok to play.
