if a game was twice as good, i'd pay twice as much. but they are not. so joe public is going to stick with what he likes for 50p and three minutes.

the only discernible leap in terms of quality of programming was when the newer monopoly was released, had that spearheaded the £1 game it might have worked. just at the moment your bloke in the pub is a bit more circumspect than he would have been this time last year.
nobody ever wins on those things.

I saw one of these at the Atei show in Jan this year. It looked the part with the nice styling and such but i dont think it will look that nice after a few pints down it.
I tried to play the game, (star wars) but for some reason it didn't work just went to a screen saver type thingy. It probably wasn't finished in time for the show.
But saying that if i see one i will have a go...and inform you chaps where i saw it.
Later procrastinator......TS

I came across a DICE on my travels today. It looks like Open might finally have heeded some of the comments on this forum about its menu system, as as far as I could see this had a sensible front-and-back-screen menu system with unchanging line-ups (although I wasn't able to play it for long). It had what I presume is the latest Open menu line-up, which had a few new things on (although again I can't really comment as I opted for some old favourites). Looks a nice cabinet though, and if the menus are as simple as they looked this could be a winner for Open.

It was obviously a day for novel cabinets, as I also played a rather odd cabinet which from the game line-up was evidently an unbranded GamesNet - it looked rather like a Fatbox, with a screen protruding forwards from the main body of the machine: front and back unbranded games menus but with a standard GamesNet line-up of product. Anyone seen one of those?

Thanks guys. The KUDOS machine is definitely it - is this GamesNet-related, as I thought, or a new entrant to the market?

Edit: (I've now checked and it's made by Bellfruit. Interesting: not sure what to make of that, but good to see another player on the multi-game cabinet scene.)

I think I saw this machine at least a year ago, in a pub in Kingston.
