which will lead to more people getting into debt thus making our country richer(if you see it from the governments point of view)COASTERDESIGNERPRO1 wrote:I think that this new stake/jackpot , sec 16s and the UK VEGAS will be the downfall of the UK gaming industry. Players may not be able to afford the huge stakes. I think will also create more addicts.

but why would an industry push for an increase in Stakes and Prizes if they thought that it would kill off the players? its already on its arse why would they want to speed that up?
i dont know what thye've got planned but from what i read and understand is that this will "breath life into game design and play"?!
doesnt seem logical to introduce something that would kill it off

I love using 25p coins when i play on machinescardinal richelieu wrote:It is faintly ridiculous.. after all, who's heard of a 35p (or a 30p) coin?
It works well in the industry's favour. Since a lot of people usually play with pound coins, when the stake is 30p, the player might have to put £3 in to get a round number of credits (and get his money worth).
Whereas 35p per play, the customer would have to put in
* furious calculations *
£7 to get his money worth.

I get your point though. Using numbers not divisble by 1 only makes people put more in! Scheming buggers!

hmm a topic old topic this..
maybe with the increase in credit cost there may come a change in standard coins used...maybe a £2 wil become the staple? wild guess i know.
and dont forget the modern youth of britain are earning more than they used too..you see it...£180 on a pair of jeans...£110 on sunglasses...there are always going to be some that will happily drop a few quid in at 50p a time to chance thier luck and boast to thier mates theve won JP..
personlly i will have to think long and hard whether to continue if these do come into play...£20 on MS in less than a minute i reckon you could do £25 mate..
will be interesting to see what the manus come up with and will all follow suit?

Remember the uproar when the stake was increased to 30p? There was a lot of talk of people not bothering (mug punter types) as they don't get full value from their £1 coin.
This time may well be different though, as you can get a lot more 'fun' or 'enjoyment' playing an SWP for the same stake.
AWP - 50p in 'tap' = lost.
SWP - 50p in '3-4 mins of screen tapping' = possible few quid prize.
I think that AWP's changing their stake will have a positive effect on SWP's...

Heh! I never touch clubbers (apart from on the emu) but they do take absurd amounts of dosh!
I've also notice some machines already have the 50p option available (take a look at some globals / reds in the top right hand corner)...
It's been there for quite a while!

ah yeah i do recall that now...
christ 50p spins on a red..that truely is savage
so with these new machines if JP is going to be £35 and streak potential remains the same then a SUPER roll on a red could be in the region on £35 x3 plus MAYBE another £35 x 2 if REALLY going for it.
thats £175, surely that is either guna leave the machie terribly light or they will have to increase the hopper size?

Would be great if they put say a £400 hopper in the machine, which coincidently is the amount of £ coins that Barcrest give away with their TAW auction, does that mean that the new barcrests have a £400 hopper.ssgtsnelly wrote:ah yeah i do recall that now...

If so it should mean the potential for streaks the size of a club machine (£200) jackers
