Deal or No Deal

As I started this row with my question about the "free game" trick on Deal or No Deal, I should just say that I took Big Ed to be referring in the first part of this to his whole career playing various machines as opposed to just on DOND, in the same way that I stated that I have never been banned anywhere in my 20 years of playing quiz machines (which is true, by the way) in response to one of cool's posts about that subject.BigEd wrote:Cool - FYI - 0 bans, 1000's of undrunk 1/2's of coke, loads and loads of pubs, and countless ALMOST empty gamesnet machines.
On the other hand I took the last bit (about the Gamesnets) to refer to DOND only, unless Bid Ed you have an inside track to someone working at the company that makes the things and have been given similar info about other games in the past, in which case to bring things round to the present again, and to end another controversy, could your contact confirm or deny whether the DOND prize game is in any way random? That way foxy will be able to rest easy and hence put all his energy into supporting England against Portugal tomorrow...

Cheers Nil,
I don't have an inside track, and it was another "player" who let me in on the trick, as I am from a different area to him.
I would guess the following, and I am willing to be told that I am wrong, and talking bollocks:
a) They have updated the game more than once, and changed the number of points needed to get to the prize game, and the prizes offered.
b) The prize game is definately NOT random.
Of course, this would all be true if I played games, which I don't, so I'll shut up, and go and ponder what type of trophy I would have liked to win if I was analy retentive.

On a similarly pedantic note, I must say this comment worried me:

And who is "Big End"? Does he know something we don't?its nice to know that whenever anybody is talking bannings (e.g Big End )my name is being mentionned. My name will go down into the anals of Fruitchat history. I know im talking b######s!

I played DOND last week on a GamesNet and found it infuriating but quite addictive - my feeling is it's of better quality than most current machines and could do well if allowed onto the Itboxes. I must have put seven or eight quid in and didn't get through to the endgame once - I was kippered either by very high score requirements to get through, or hard questions. That said, I still thought it was fun, and just as I reached my last pound coin I managed to get through to the endgame where I played to the end and managed to bag a tenner (through pure luck obviously). A lot of luck on this game, but it's good fun and worth a play.

My opinion of this game took a rapid dive this evening..
Q: Which country has 52 states?
A: America
B: Russia
C: Somewhere else
I know I should have picked America, but I didn't honestly think that they would make such an elementary error. Needless to say, it was for the end game which I fluffed. I was away getting change and someone leapt on.
Grrrrr

i think the operators are laughing about this game it looks like it cost about a penny to make and it is going to eat through £125,000 giving back 30%
i still play one game of it though in the vain hope of getting some free money.
the itbox unlicenced clone game works on the same principal but looks and plays better because they didn't have to pay the licence fee.
just my comments but it doesn't tick all the boxes for me.

nobody ever wins on those things.
