well the charges have all been dropped now thank fuck and not on bail etc now just waiting for someone to ring about getting out stuff back hopefully in the next few days.

Apparantely the geeza who worked in the pub keyed the fruits after we played them a few times and it was like 102 short and 70 short, and he said to the police that there is no way that we cud win that amount of money without robbing it or whatever! obviously he dint look in the bottom to see the coins down there!

So hopefully we will be able to claim/sue someone here!

Doubt you will be able to sue anyone - the police are well within their rights to arrest you on suspision of theft. Unless they held you for longer than allowed or did something blatenty against procedure while handling you, you wont get anywhere.

Even if they did do something wrong, they wont admit to it and it will become your word against theirs. Which you have no chance of winning.

THEN if you do go to court - first thing a police defence lawyer is going to do is discredit your character.

"Mr Chandler is habitiual gambler living an oppertunistic and unsustainable lifestyle. His perceived employment involves exploiting fruit machines with questionable legality and follows textbook addictive/dependancy behaviour. He has no other formal employment, is likely to be claiming benefits, and borderline alcoholic who is devoid of social responsibility and shows no signs of changing."

Thats nothing personal - its a generalised statement most of which will be true of most players, with an added twist to make us look worse in the eyes of the law.

Be glad its over, however you will be on record now for suspision of machine fraud, if you get arrested again it will look bad, and if you ever actually get charged with something related, this arrest may come back to haunt you.

Of course I agree its all bullshit, but thats what we have to put up with in this country. Its still better than most others countries in this sort of scenario tho.

The distance of your house doesn't matter. A mate of mine got caught doing something in Cornwall, his address was in Bristol. Devon and Cornwall constabulary make one call to Avon and Somerset and order a house search.

Same as everyone else mate really, if you was playing fairly then you got nothing to worry about, just a shame that the toolers ruin it for everyone and you have been put in that catagory. If you know what your doing why should you get singled out? the process of finding out things costs time effort and money! Blame the toolers mate! Sorry for saying it mr moderator but toolers are a bunch of pricks that truly ruin it for any genuine player!

Any moderator worthy of his stature will readily concur that toolers are a blight on society, and a real nuisance to those attempting to earn an honest crust, so have no reservations about speaking out against the scourge....

I think it's pretty much a given that you can mention LooTing in respect to how it has impacted on 'the game', without incurring moderator heat.

The talk of LooTing has been reclassified from a Class B to a Class C offence under given circumstances. In other words, don't blow too much LooTin' smoke in the moderator's faces and it'll slip under the radar.

However start dealing bag loads of LooTin' chat and the moderators will pay you a visit and cut you(*) up. Caprice? No err, Capiche?

Hazards of pro playing. Have heard similar stories a few times and usually case dowsn't go anywhere. Interesing thing though recelntly i was informed that earnings from gambling are taxable now!
Either way you've done nothing wrong. No crime has been committed - or a least none that con be circumstancially pinned upon you. Apart from 'hoarding' money it's heresay and an 'untrained in fruit machine workings' pub landlord who's reported a so called crime.

I shall find out if that statement is true but I suspect the only way that'll be in anyway true is if Gambling income is your primary income. But even then, how the taxman is supposed to know what your earning is anyones guess.
