State Of Play - July '06

Post by Mattb »

Anyone else think it's very poor at the moment?

There seems to be naff all to talk about, no decent new machines since the turn of the year (TAW, which is going down as classic already), and lots of Bellfruits and new Extremes/Vivids appearing, all of which are truly awful, with hardly any streak potential.

Plus i've got no money to play with at the mo. Rubbish! :x :P

Anyone else feel the same?

Matt

Definetly Matt, only things I seem to touch are my reliable reds, TAW's, Dart's clones, and a few others(few others are non chase machines)

Although at the minute i'm the same with the money situation. Too many people are winning. Because it's getting easier for the mugs. Meaning harder for us.

I'm having a great start to July, £203 up Saturday and £229 Sunday.

It's been ages since the last time I was over £200+ and too hit two in a row was amazing, all from £4/£5/£25 AWPS.

All as I feel 'safe' to play on now is the following.

1 TAW - usually end up about £20 - £70 on this never lost on it as yet.

2 YDD - Usually force from offering the £6 on shot and above the block feature of Shangai, averaging about £10 - £40 on theese.

1 Lucky Strike - This sometimes causes a loss no more than around £20 and profit is no more than £25 I reckon.

All Me £5JP some of which can hammer some of which I can be up £50 off. I have today had £3 change after I had me haircut so went into the local arcade got upto £24 after getting a Hot Rod JP £8 off nudge pot and dropping and repeating a old lucky strike off 5 nudges.

Anyway I went over to Quick on the Draw £5 (Vivid) usually take £1 - £5 for a board and can just give a sly JP but today took the £24 off me not even a board.

So tommorow I want to go out on the piss as it is student night I only have £25 and its a £1 a bottle but I have a car so I may be slightly ever so tempted to go on a gamble.

I dont know what to do its just so boring without doing anything.

The downside though is that there is a lot of competition round here
A lot of players
Timing and keeping track of what should be ready and what wont is the key

State of play at the moment is reasonable near me but to be fair, the standard is becoming shitter and shitter.

Majority of machines are being replaced by BFG or voodoo! There are still the good share of reds E.g. RM, DNA etc and many unchipped extremes! Also lots of darts m/cs which is always good. I just feel that the standard of play has gone quite downhill lately!

Has anyone seen the new club D&N (£250 JPT) yet? It's on the Extreme website:

http://www.extremegaming.co.uk

I assume this is their first club machine?

Yes this is their first club machine and i am sure it will not be their last.

If anyone has £1,645 to spare, why not get one.

Yep can have unbelievable days smashing everything but like i say the competition is massive

At the moment there are hardly any Bell Fruits or maz's

Lets just say the profit i have made is paying for me and the missus to go to greece for 2 weeks next week and all of our spending money

Its not cost me a penny :D

Back to the topic! I was speaking to a tecky and he said that the goverment are hasseling companies to lower a streak potential! Flat 25s of sub zero etc etc , could jus be bull but thats what he said!

Another thing if you hate s16s they might disapear soon! In septemeber they will cost around £1,700 for places to have them so it could be the end!

surely most s16 machines will more than cover that

maybe a few in the services and really small arcades might go but im sure weve all seen people do the best part of a grand on these in a day..the guy in our local arcade said some guy did 4k through one...

id be seriosuly ill if that was me...
