the reel appeal i mentioned was emptiable via a hold change ,we had one we knew was prone ,but it stayed in because the locals did'nt know it .
once in a while an out of towner would find it and blitz it .the boss let it stay because on refloat it could take a oner down the back for a board that died 1st number ............what a skanky ex traveller lol.

I used to come down for that reel appeal, I remember there being a roller coaster, revolution and beer guide in k's, and a good itj2, reel a fish and other bits in electric avenue. You also had a cash n burn, but eventually you put it on 10p.....

One of the best machines for swap holding has to be Chuzzy Bar X.

The Pinball theme clone of Hot Shot and Caesars was called Fireball. There was a great one in Lloyds Ipswich in the day.

So this applies to 5 way win machines then, not machines that payout out on middle line?.

Nope singles as well.

Bar(x) Bar Cherry (x)

Swap from feature holds to fruit and Vicky Versaille.

Anyone remember those black/white choco minstrel things called Vice versas? Back in the '90s. Nice. Like Minstrels but with a twist.

Off topic.

I think we've thrashed swaps to death. No swaps on Power 5 or wiyb. Swaps on 4 reeler.

I think JPM's programmers must have moved onto Red Gaming.... certain traits were there....
Heh, I've mentioned this several times and am sure that I read somewhere that was indeed the case. Look at how 'Aftershock' resembled 'Impulse'. ;)

I think we all agree that Caesars, Red Alert, Hot Shot, Impulse were all top, top games. I remember 'Nudge Steppa' was quite difficult on Impulse because of the amount of boxed win combinations that were possible. You also had the choice of stepping up or down which introduced more thought to it.

I used to play a Red Alert most lunchtimes in a local pub (Dartford - The Railway) and do particularly well from Firemans' Lift. I did find that the hiddens on this were tighter than those on Impulse. Most of the hiddens on Impulse were JP-able, whereas more of them on Red Alert weren't. One example was the 'Hot-Shot' feature on Impulse, that was an easy 'skill-continue-esque' feature advancing you up the cash stack. On Red Alert, the word was a lot longer and would go far too fast after about the £4 mark, even with the cancel button invoked. Of course, Crazy Reels not repeating was usually a sign that it had been killed (barring numbering, of course! :) )

There used to be a good 3 or 4 Hot Shots and Caesars around my way, would love hitting them every other day or so for some sweet profit. They were excellent on £15, but tightened up severely for the £25 editions - these didn't really hang around long. The 'Crystal' version of Caesars was painful to play. :(

I've posted about it before, but remember the horrendous delays that JPMs used to have when it didn't want you to win the gamble? It's poor little processor must've been smoking when you hit 'Hi' on a 2 on the £4 with an exchange to FL / 11H present! Lower than the 11 and it'd 'step' to the 12. lol

Happy days!
