Think the old JPM's Betch, hold swapping, i'm sure Caesars (Ace) did it too.

If this is'nt what he's referring too then god knows?

Plus a number of Barcrest machines would swap such as Spiker, some new mazoomas do it as well - Monopoly RTR did it for me with two JP's on top line

and a couple of deal or no deals, and all reds and billy the quid and all clones and a hell of a lot of other machines..

say you're holding two reels, for a cherry win...
1st hold does nothing,
second hold does nothing
3rd hold would spin in the other cherry,

but if after the second spin of the reels, there are two symbols for a higher win or feature entry in line that only need one fruit or feature symbol or number to get a better feature/win.. hold them instead... ie "hold swapping" some machines will continue the 3rd hold winning spin and spin in the win you hold for last

anyone with locations for hi lo watha or royal family? lol

Caesars didn't cross hold. Hot shot did, one of the reasons they were better than Caesars. Cash Up, and the JPM pinball themed version of Caesars/Hotshot also cross holded.

Fair enough, must be Hot Shot i was thinking of. Could have swore blind Caesars did it too, it's been a while so could be wrong, they did do an early version of number runner though, nudge steppa if i remember correctly.

Caesars could do it, just had to have had fair few jackpots in it beforehand.. Hotshot was 1000% more generous with them. Impulse was always good I found, Red Alerts were either lots of holds or no holds, obviously was more than one program on these. Much of the JPM program code regarding holds seems to be present in Reds right up to the current day.

I had a tremendous red alert back in the day, battered it no end of times, used to get several firemans lifts on it before it would stop numbering, and was brilliant for the repeat.

I've never had a caesars cross hold, but thats not to say that they couldn't, but hot shots were great for it. And you are spot on about the early red alert/impulse, they used to love holding, while later versions didn't. Number runner was present in JPM games such as Camelot, Wizard of odds etc, and the earliest Nudge Steppa was on Big 50 if memory serves. Yes early Reds crossed, you are absolutely right, I think JPM's programmers must have moved onto Red Gaming.... certain traits were there....

Ah, Viva the old days eh?
