Found this on quizlist.com: I don't particularly agree with what's written, but then it's quite rare to read anything on this topic so here's the link should anyone be interested:
It's obviously written by someone who is in machine terms what might be called an "interested amateur" but it is rare to find someone like that who has realised that the higher prizes on most games are indeed "theoretical" as he calls them - not Trivia for Dummies (well not always at least!) but certainly on things like 1 vs 100. This doesn't necessarily make them bad games, just that you have to know what you are dealing with.
It was interesting/entertaining enough as a read. There is plenty in it that I don't agree with, but he does end with the caveat that he's not a serious player.
