as founder member of the SWP forum, i've seen loads of new games discussed in fruitchat and the response to this game has been universally strong. notwithstanding spies (who i personally welcome) everyone has some comment to make about DOND. i quite like it but i'm not in the game for the money (how many of us are these days?) although my last £20 JP was about 18 months ago i still play after work most days to wash down a couple of pints. it is moreish in a way few other SWP games are.
if the game didn't have noel edmonds, arguably if noel edmonds had never been invented, it could be better still, if this game sticks around it will be profitable to decent players like us because dullards and cretins watch it on tv and they will punt money but get banjaxed by the Qs before the prize round. however, everyone who gambles (even 50p in the SWP) is greedy and wants something for nothing. this underpins how edmonds can get away with taking forever to open 22 boxes and answer six phone calls on tv and the same applies to the SWP.

if, God rest him, bob monkhouse fronted the show his quick-wittedness, personability and stage presence would make it hugely watchable. btw you really should see my impression of bob monkhouse, really i'm such a one.

Has anyone had the swap on this? After about a million questions I got to the cash game and ended up with £4 and 20p (i think) left. It said "do you want to swap?" and I did (by touching the last box left) - the box I picked at the start was swapped with the one that was left - and I got £4

!

Has the £1 version got different wins in the cash game?

Don't get me wrong, i fully understand why the game is successful, and the SWP has taken a fair share of my cash.... Thing is, if the end game is random, and you CAN get £20 every time, then assuming the game is running at approx 30% payout (which we all know they do), it would take 133 games WITHOUT any win coming out of the machine for it to be able to safely pay out the jackpot. If they have taken the average win (from the amounts available), then i'd assume its about £4 (i don't know the exact values on the game).

Even then, this is 27 losing games before it can realistically allow you to get into the feature....

Its a good format, and a good game - and i'll play it because there is little else on gamesnet worth playing - other than Fruit Frenzy... which, by the way, is actually not bad if you can get past the first level which is always a complete bitch unless you ALWAYS use a bomb....

As it seems that all the machines have been updated then this no longer needs to be a "trade secret". I might point out at this stage that I have actually been trying to give you a clues that this game was emptyable, but no, all you lot seem to have been bothered with is your high scores on WU. In the mean time, I have been keeping myselft quite busy emptying Gamesnet machines. The words "Arse", "up", "heads", "your", and "own" all come skipping into view.

Cool - FYI - 0 bans, 1000's of undrunk 1/2's of coke, loads and loads of pubs, and countless ALMOST empty gamesnet machines.

Now to the question in hand - "Free" games = games that you could trick DOND into giving you. I don't know if it was a fraud put in by whoever programmed it, or some test code left in, or a genuine error, but you could play for free. It thought that you were paying to play, and after quite a few losing games it was gagging to payout, and fools like me could empty it. But, on the other hand, who is the fool, VB et al with their 2000+ high scores or, me making 2000+ from DOND?

Oh and the game is STILL wank.

If you've had 1000's of undrunk cokes, how come you only made £2 grand? If you've been to a thousand pubs you'd have made a lot more than that wouldn't you 'Big Ed'?

Unless you bought 10 in every pub I suppose.

I admit it, there wasn't an emptier on DOND. I am a liar, and I have been making it all up.
I never play quiz machines ever.
I never go into pubs, because I am not old enough.
I don't even know what a quiz machine is actually.
I think you lot are far superior to me, and I shouldn't dare to even read this board, let alone post on it.

For fear of also being shot down in flames... i'd like to vouch folr the precision of BigEd's psot - there WAS an emptier on DOND, which caused an awful lot of problems for Gamenet, and the developers. You could get the game to give free games, but of course, it thought you were putting 50p in each time so it got happier and would allow cash wins through.

It wasn't widespread, or well known, but there were enough people doing it for it to be a problem...

And i think BigEd may not have been being completely accurate in his "1000's of cokes" statement.... i think it was more of an estimate than a statement of fact. If that wasn't apparent, then maybe you should go back to putting all your money in Word Up, and continually talking about that... Oh hang on, i mentioned Word Up in an unrelated thread.. does that make me a fuck-dumpling?

Obviously, as I don't play Trivia machines, I have never played fruit machines either. During all my many many years not playing, I have not been in loads of pubs, as I am still not old enough.
This is proably why I never got banned from any pubs either.

And I don't think DOND is wank either, as I have never played it so how can I pass comment. Sorry.
