Lost my OPEN virginity
Rocket Ronnie is indeed Q&A. It starts off quite friendly, and may indeed offer a few early smallish wins on installation, but it rapidly gets to be as hard as any quiz game I can remember. I suspect your customers will find it very unappealing as even winning £1 will be a major achievement. It has the useful facility of a weekly scoreboard of highest frame scores and via that I'm not seeing it getting major play anywhere from punters, or indeed from the quiz machine versions of Ronnie himself!
rocket ronnie predicted the demise of snooker.........its a pity he didnt have any input into this pile of dung.......I dont think he meant his game!
If the programmers had any idea they might have developed a game that rewarded speed of pot as well as points for potting balls,as that is the clue in the epithet 'Rocket' Ronnie.

As far as my memory serves Play Your Cards Right hasn't been around before, which is very odd given how long it is since that show was at its peak! It is a standard Q&A game with the 'Higher' vs. 'Lower' sequences of playing cards built in. Obviously when it wants to stop you winning all it has to do is give you successive dodgy cards - "Lower than a King you say? Ooh, unlucky - another Ace!". This was certainly the case the first time I saw it, and I haven't yet found another one to give it another try.
It looks like a STAR WARS game may be coming to the OPEN'S in the next relase......just found this......
" The latest, eagerly awaited O.P.E.N game release is Menu 6 and will be available free of charge to all O.P.E.N customers in early February. Again, the latest update will provide operators with more new games than any other terminal on the market and without any of the associated software complications. New games include the new, exclusive and hugely successful test game ‘True Skill Bingo’, ‘Golden Gloves’ and a brand new version of Challenge TV’s ‘Take It or Leave It’. Third party games include the latest top titles ‘Family Guy’ from Bell Fruit Games and ‘Rocket Money’ a quiz game endorsed by snooker legend Ronnie O’ Sullivan. It's gimmicky in the extreme, it makes it very tricky to qualify for the end game - if it wants to it will just keep giving you non-winning squares "randomly" - and when you finally do make it to the end game the prize you get is normally pretty pitiful. In short, it's garbage!whiteswan wrote:Not seen Family Guy - is it like South Park?

true and it's a pity as the graphics and general idea is quite good.Nil Satis wrote:It's gimmicky in the extreme, it makes it very tricky to qualify for the end game - if it wants to it will just keep giving you non-winning squares "randomly" - and when you finally do make it to the end game the prize you get is normally pretty pitiful. I am still awaiting my Update CD from OPEN so I still have not seen these new games yet.
I will post a Top Ten Of Games later on in the week as its been a while since the last one.
I still don't think it will have changed much though.................but the machine is still getting regualr and good use.
And No glitches recently either.

Hi
Just got back from Benidorm and the update cd was waiting for me.........
So I installed the games today and had a quick look.
A Massive Complaint Coming Up Shortly - but first my view on a couple of the games............
True Skill Bingo - You have 5 bingo cards and balls are drawn out that you cross off each card - if you get a line it gives you a cash prize - could be strangely addictive.
Family Guy - Collect all the characters on a grid to get to the prize round - you do this by ansering questions - not bad.
Rocket Ronnies Challenge - Answer questions to pot balls and improve your break to achieve cash prizes - standard fare.
Golden Gloves - All True or False questions - the main attraction seems to be a dolly bird holding a acrad in between rounds.......hmmmmmm.
Blackjack - again the attraction seems to be some lovely female dealers........hmmmmmmmmmm - but apart from that you get 4 hands dealt and the longer you can outwit the dealer the more chance you have of winning a cash prize.
Now my Complaint - ALL THE NEW GAMES (There are more than I have listed here but these are the only ones I have played) - seem to be £1 a go - we are in the middle of a recession for gawds sake!
They need to be 50p - with maybe a SUPER option for higher cash prize for £1.
I predict that these new games will get very little play - if any at all..............but lets see - they have been put on the OPEN menu screen as soon as the update was installed - so I will leave it a few weeks then do a Top 10.
