Right I had a battery low fault on an mpu5, someone told me that u can use something that will give the battery a bit of a kick, to get the machine running again without the need of replacing the mpu, is this true and if so how

Touchwood only had this problem once or twice and each time I replaced the MPU5. I haven't heard of being able to do this but sure somebody will come on and correct me

it dont matter if its on or off, theres charge in the battery, and you're heating it up when you fit it

Correct, as a new battery is not normally charged anyway
