Your eminence, really.
A STANDALONE.
Could such a thing really be possible in this day and age?
Alas no.
On your next visit to the west end PM me and I'll take you there.

Sorry. I was harking back to the halycon days when standalone machines roamed the earth, and quiz machines could be quite lucrative.

Cheers for the offer though Foxy! How many quiz players are there from Glasgow on this board? Seems like quite a few! We should hook up and do lunch or something!

"Hi, I'm Vidmar, I'm 23, a student and I'm looking for a QMF for OPM, with GSOH and enjoys PP, WWTBAM, ITBS and Bullseye".

I did stumble upon a machine on Sauchiehall Street that seemed to be in a good mood. Not an ITBox, obviously.

Quiz Machine Fiend.

Just about to head up to Hyndland. Spotted a good old fashioned Prize Triple Towers out that way a few nights ago. Wish me luck.

I am missing something here, but for the life of me I can't see what.
It seems that all the machines have been updated, so DOND is no longer worth playing. Thanks to whoever, I made a nice sum from those "free" games, and I have just taken delivery of my new motor :D

Looking at the game in a "god I'll actually have to play this thing for real" way, I can not for the life of me see why anybody plays this pile of cr*p. I can't bear to watch the TV show, as it appeals to only the lowest IQ. What strategy are you going to use to randomly choose a box?

Twats,
Twats,
Twats.

I hope the banker offers you fu*k all, as it is all you deserve in life for watching Mr Tidy Beard.

Morons the lot of you.....

Big Ed I salute you. I am putting my pet rabbit 'Montong' forward as a contestant on Deal Or No Deal as I believe his IQ is higher than some of the contestants and the fact that he would probably sh*t on Noel Edmonds would make his appearance a must see. The only good thing is seeing the greedy contestants not even win a bfh (bus fair home).A highlight for me is the guy who had two boxes left 250,000 and 20,000. The banker offered him 101,000 which the greedy contestant who had done nothing to deserve the jackpot ( where is the skill or intelligence in this programme? ) turned him down.He ended up with 20 grand. He cried , I laughed and laughed and laughed.

Erm, is it just possible Big Ed and cool are getting a reasonable quiz game(and let's face it they're few and far between)mixed up with an objectionable murderous tv host?
I'm not exactly a fan of "Dr"Fox but you can imagine where I could go with this.
Incidentally could Ed explain what he's talking about vis-a-vis the program being updated.
I still maintain the endgame is random(I had 40pv£20 tonight and came out nicely)and boldly and foolishly predict we'll never see it on itbox because you can actually win a jackpot and that's not really allowed these days.

No, Quiz game, TV show, and Mr Tidy Beard should all be put in a field, and stoned.

Yeah, play DOND, take "free" games, keep losing, take "free" games, keep winning. ALMOST empty machine.

Move to next Pub with machine,

play DOND, take "free" games, keep losing, take "free" games, keep winning. ALMOST empty machine.

Move to next Pub with machine.........

Repeat above while "free" game thing not fixed.
Was that enough info?

Have to agree with big ed.... DOND is a hwwwaage pile of wank. The problem is, and i fell foul of this when i first played it, that the end game does feel random, or at least it did. The last three times i got to the end game the £20 and £10 were in the first three bixes to go each time - that didn't feel particularly random to me. However, to get to the end game can take in advance of three million games, at it makes it so damn hard to get there.

I used to play it - and i can understand to an extent why Mr. Average Jo does play it - familiarity is always a good thing in SWP's, and indeed any game.

As for your colourful use of language, Big Ed, i think your description rather apt - although maybe you should take your anger out on some Chav's - preferably by hitting them repeated over the head with a very large, heavy object.

And whilst i'm on the subject of chav's, one of the little spunk-guzzling fucktards decided he thought it would be fun to try and "help" me whilst i was playing Hex Appeal the other day by randomly pressing letters on the screen whilst declaring "i no this one, itz boun t'hav a n in it". He was bemused when i told him that if he didn't stop touching the screen, i'd put his burberry covered, ugly twattish face through the screen. He then said something in twat, which i don't speak, and waddled off to get some other 12 year old girl pregnant.... possibly.

That is absolutely brilliant!!

As for DOND - gonna have a bit of a punt tonight, there's two in the village near me, see if I have any 'Joy'. I'll try and refrain from clobbering Noel, but if a chav is within striking distance, they may well wish they weren't... ;)

:)

Isn't that (winning £20k just for appearing on a cretinous TV programme) a lot like Liberace's famous comment when asked what happened when he was slated by critics:

...from the Daily Mirror of 26 September 1956: “On the occasion in New York at a concert in Madison Square Garden when he had the greatest reception of his life and the critics slayed him mercilessly, Liberace said: ‘The take was terrific but the critics killed me. My brother George cried all the way to the bank.’ ” Later, he was quoted as saying “Remember that bank I cried all the way to? I bought it.”

Ed - I'll understand if this is a 'trade secret', particularly if the loophole hasn't yet been closed in a few places, but what do you mean about winning on "free" games? - was this a way of gaining free credits, or did you lose deliberately until the machine was ready to pay, or ...
