on a spot check i've counted 15 bond films. i realise that there were fewer books than films and that i've probably forgotten about a third of the films so, i've revised my shot-in-the-dark to 14. any good?

Hmm your logic defeats but nevertheless it is indeed 14 (or at least there are 14 in the box set I purchased from Amazon recently. At around £35, a nice gift for any fan.
Have not read them since I was a kid and it is amazing to see just how mysoginist and racist Fleming was- no doubt twisted my own view of the world growing up. Classic observation in Thunderball is that in Bond's mind there is only one thing worse in the world than a woman driving and that is a woman driving with anothe woman passenger.
Quality stuff over to you Isty
