the lowest on EWQ's site is 1190. so that is probably the lowest clearance to have been done. in a way it is more difficult to achieve a 39 than 18xx because you set an artificial constraint on your game.

I've still never done that.

Next time I get a yellow board I'll give it a spin.

The lowest scoring clearance is entirely dependent on the weakness of the grid. Assuming you can get 39x3 whatever grid comes up, your final score is just thrice the sum of the tile values plus 500. So the only remaining skill is to notice that your grid is very weak.

39-word clearance ticked off. Scored about 1490 which is on the high side.

Best word ZIZ for 69. 8)

I thought I was pretty good at Word Up having got QUIZZICALITIES for 700+ somewhere in Kent, but not mangaing to clear the screen on that occasion.

Was really made up with a score just past the 2200 mark on another one I payed then saw that for a few people this is crap!

Is it? Marvelous! Just that it doesn't happen that often. I just looked on the link above and wondered how to register my scores?

Congratulations B-G-M, a very good score by any standards.

One of the words I got recently was THRILLINGLY (385 points, 11 letters). How many longer / higher scoring words are there with only 2 vowels? An obvious one is CHILLINGLY, but I'm sure some of you know some far more interesting / obscure words.

Also, Ernest are you still maintaining the lists of who's got the longest / highest scoring words for each letter of the alphabet? It'd be interesting to see an updated version though I suspect ANGIE with or without ANDY will no longer own any of them :(

Would RHYTHMNISTIC be a word?

My spell-checker just passed it ok.

Also, what would the longest/highest scoring word be regarding quizzicalities, or a word of similar meaning?

quizzicalistically - is that a word?

Before anyone else points it out, I have now taken the time to count the number of letters in CHILLINGLY and I realise that it is neither as long nor as high-scoring as THRILLINGLY. I'm still struggling to think of many (any) 2-vowel words that are...
