I've heard several good arguments for starting Lennon in the Sweden game - mainly because he'll be marked by Erik Edman (who Spurs signed and promptly sent packing because he's slow and can't defend to save his life). Trouble is to do that, Sven would have to be brave and drop a big name.

Anyone else agree that Ashley Cole still doesn't look entirely up with the pace at the moment? His injury really seems to have set him back in terms of speed and willingness to go for the crunch tackles. He's not the Ashley Cole I remember.

Oh how we desperately need a quality holding midfield player...

I agree, which is why i think we should start with Bridge against Sweden, he is nothing like the great player he was in 2002. The speed and willingness to come forward aint as strong as then.

I dont think Sven will drop any big names - he just hasnt got the bollocks, id start with Lennon, Bridge and Carrick against Sweden, and bring walcott into the game if Owen doesnt improve.
