£4, a flask of tea, two rounds of cheese and pickle sandwiches, refill key and a bible (used for praying when you find yourself in a dirty, rotten, filthy pub that has two dozen smack-heads hell-bent on nicking that 105 you just got out of the red that they stuffed their giro in).

a £100 in coins used to be more than enough, inclluding reds. £25 reds could be sensibly taken on with about £80, many darts + clones a lot lot less.

Now I dont dare leave with less then 120 in coins + back up notes.

When theres 2 of us its usually a ton each, at least with 2 of you one can nip bank if needed, on my own i used to always have £300 sometimes £500, had a bad SMTM last week ARB2 on 1 nudge with no win and i was £230 in at my worst point, had £300 on me that day but was with a mate that could have gone and got some more if needed, plus there was no threat from watchers/barstaff, just one of those hits you take i spose, got about £180 back in the end for the record.

I've been having some terrible luck on reds lately and not the newer ones, more reliable old reds, ok some people don't like SMTM but i thought £230 in was harsh from the state i took it on from, also had some bad times on invincible, lucky devil, vortex, and a moley recently, the only consistant one thats always absolutely flying is the CCP i've got, i suppose they'll all come good eventually :)

I have a couple of EVIL smtm's, one of which is constantly showing arb1, but blatantly isn't there, ie only offering the shit red features, if any. Took it on once, was 50 in before I twigged, ended up 220 in for a top which did a 70 and went dodo. I felt privileged to only drop 150 in it. Fucking atrocious. The games are bad enough without operators being greedy and siting them on such sick programs.

I normally go out with £100 odd in coins and £200-£300 notes. Never not been enough, but you have to make sure.

When I played a touch more seriously, it would need to be a £100 minimum in coinage. As mentioned above, nothing worse than that nervous feeling of no notey / notey knackered and the barman getting 'irate' because you've taken all his weekends supply of pound coins - namely a fivers worth! :(

Had this once on a Red - was £80 in and it was so close to rolling, but had no remaining coins. Left my coat by the fruit and my beer just by the side of it (quiet pub, only one other bloke in there - he may or may not have been alive) and done the old 'pretend someone's calling me on the mobile and I need to nip out' routine. Went to the pub next door and got £36 out of a DOND via the notey. Went back and the bugger behind the bar had switched the machine off...

...ARSE!

Never let that happen again!

£80 into a Red one day and the bloody coin jam alarm goes off in the bookies. The spotty 18 year old hasn't a clue and turns it off. AAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRFGGGGGHHHHH ! It was 20 miles from home and couldn't be bothered to go back the next day.

I sort of felt a bit stuck, as I wasn't going to mess with the chunky fella behind the bar. I did toy with how I could get my own back, but after moving on and just managing to recoup some of the loss, I'd put it to the back of my mind. At the time though, I was fuming inside - I could see that he thought he was 'all powerful' because he was a huge fat-fecker and 'could stop me playing if he wanted'.

As you say, he was indeed, a Knobhead... ;)

The pub went bust a couple of weeks later, so in a round about way, he was worse off than me. ;)

i never leave the door with less than 300 coins and a cashcard ,,,,

very rarely that you have to break into the second or third hundred but better to be safe
