Post by Pheature »

do you think it would be safe enough to buy a machine from ebay? with everything took into account and obivously checked the persons feedback would anyone still reccomend it???? like you see some cheap deals, the sad thing for me is that im from northern ireland and postage is that much more...
but still are cheaper than any place around here which i know of.

It's plenty safe enough, know loads of people who have bought them and had no problems. I'd probably even say it's the best place to get them second hand for home use.

Have bought several from ebay, it is the best place by far and machines are getting cheaper. Best to buy from local seller as collecting machine saves big time on the cost. Once had jackpoteers, red hot knights, red arrow and great escape in a line in my garage!!

The one drawback is, no matter what machine you buy, you soon get very bored with it, hence once you have had a few you wont bother anymore.

Oh, and i put a fiver of my hard earned cash in the hopper and lt my brother play it, standing back, looking smug, theres no way he was gonna win! 1st quid, board, £10. shit business!

the numbers man is spot on ,,,,,,, if you must get one then get something your not familiar with, or better yet something you've never seen before, like an old clubber from yesteryear ,,,,, also dont use any cheats by ever playing it on test ,,,,, ever ,

that way boredom wont set in too soon

I've never owned a fruit machine. I've got to say there are very few that I would really like to own. Most of the games I'd know and even if I didn't, it's only like an emulator anyway. So it'd either have to be something absolutely brand new, to work out all the emptiers, OR something for posterity's sake, an absolute classic, ie Screenplay. M1a is unsupported, so you're talking about paying a whack to get a specialist to fix it, that's if it was even working in the first place.
If I did buy something, I'd play the game for a bit, but I'd have more fun trying to rip off the notechanger/mech for my own personal amusement.
I've never cheated or tooled in 'real life'.
I'd take everything to bits and not be able to put it back together.
I did bid on a Fireball on Ebay with 1 min to go that was at £35 in Brum the other day. I was pipped and it was sold, pick up only for £42.
I'd have happily paid a mate to borrow his van for the day to pick that up for that price. Relive an old method and then it's tying a bit of string around a coin (lol). No notey.

I've also wondered what would happen if you turned a machine upside down. I suppose the money falls out the hopper into the top of a machine.

Yeah I'd try some silly stuff.

If all else failed I could use it as a box to lock up the Horse Racing King.

i've only owned one , an old jpm clubber that i can't even remember the name of :o ops: very tedious after only a short time,no risk = no fun ,i reckon.

j.g i don't recommend turning modern machines upside down ,but selected oldies could yield a few quid here and there.
the old fifty on a bit of cotton trick still worked on barxs and lucky arrows in mannings felixstowe as late as 1998,one of the last bastions in england for it.

I've turn a great escape upside down, i was a 16-17 year old addict at the time and it was in my dads pub that i grew up in, i'd done about £40-£50 in it hopelessly recycling wins and got the hump in the finish and just thought right ya b@stard i aint standing for this, there were little holes at the top of the slots on the back were you pull the machine onto the sack barrow, so i just turned it on its head, its like a big whisky bottle when your emptying your coins, it clogs up so you have to turn it back the other way, did this for about 40 minutes and got my money back i'd lost roughly, then when i was to tired to do it anymore i plugged it back in, it did'nt alarm which was surprising but the credit/bank screen just displayed stars *********

next day my dad wants to knows whats happened when the machine aint working, and asks me if i know anything seeing the guilty look on my face, my excuse at the time was maybe the cleaner hit it with the hoover  then he knew it was something to do with me, i remember the engineer coming out and opening the back, the insides just fell out, took him a couple of hours to put right, no do gooders please, i know it was wrong and i was young and stupid at the time, just thought i'd share my story with you :)
