Machine crashed and dumped float!

Post by jaffacat »

I remember once I was playing in an arcade in Glasgow and was playing some machine - can`t even remember what it was called but it was made by Crystal (JPM). It was when the £10 cash jackpots were new - around 1996ish. Anyway from experience I knew that this machine was a b*stard for not paying out correctly. Anyway I had £40 in the bank and got an assistant to check the payout - the BIGGEST mistake ever. The machine proceeded to pay out the £40 and didn`t stop - it dumped the full float. For some reason the float was £250 - dont know why? It was a hopper machine - probably one of the first.
Can`t believe I got someone to witness the £40!
GUTTED!! :(

Anyone else ever had something like this happen?

Aye. Big Apple on Sauciehall St in Glasgow... some 10 pound Barcrest like Take Your Pick auto-dumped the hopper on me... IIRC it happened twice.

Probably part of the reason I got barred from there!

Used to like that arcade - connected to the casino wasn`t it? And had a huge pool room at the back. Had my first £500 win there on a Random Spinner and then £250 straight after on the High Roller next to it then stepped back onto the RS for another £100! A good day!

found a barx5 with a f##ked alpha reading 88.88 once and the collect noise playing :P it coughed about 90 quid out ,then made the iou sound ,time for a sharp exit
another time back in "the glory days" i found a project reflex on unlimited credits (alpha f##ked again) had to get bank limit on it to cash out though. it was right next to cash box aswell

It was next door to the casino - which incidentally had a number of good £250ers back in the day. Sadly, it's all dull video games these days.

Awww.. Reflex, I loved that machine, quite rare in the fact that a hold after nudges with just 1 single red 7 on the winline with two different symbols awarded the JP after hold.
£4.80 tokens were da dayz.
