Eggheads

Post by Drpepper »

After seeing them win for the 29th time in a row, i was wondering if anyone agreed that it's time someone actually put them in their place, even if it is only to see CJ cry.

Obviously it is probably unfeasible to put a "fruitchat" team together, i think if we managed to get some of the best quizzers around here, we would be able to put up a good fight... better than most people on the show manage to come up with.

It is a truly awful quiz show.

I don't give a toss why that posh bint from WWTBAM thinks she might know the answer to some multiple choice question.

It hasn't got the drama of Millionaire, the sheer volume of questions of Weakest Link or the difficulty factor of Mastermind or University Challenge.

But it does have the egg-heads who you can love to hate.

Don't you think they're told to ham it up a bit? Make you hate the smarmy eggs, root for the underdogs - that's the hook.

cools theorem. The enjoyment of eggheads is inversely related to the ability to play quiz machines. I expect hyena is an avid viewer never missing a show! Even the presenter is a XXXX choose a suitable four letter word.

Seeing as the teams are hand picked, chances are we'd never get in! 8)

I'd do the sport round, seeing as i've got a beyond silly knowledge of sports related stuff. I'd also take out Kev on that round :P Any other takers to get rid of Daphne and Chris? CJ and Judith i don't care about, 'cos they're stupid!

Well if you're such a whizz on sports Matt, why not ask a question in the Phoenix? It's your turn!

It's not a bad idea actually - I suspect that Eggheads like teams with a gimmicky or interesting connection, so they might go for "we all use an Internet message board about quiz machines".

The trouble is that the production team are pretty scrupulous about not selecting any really good teams - which is not only rather unfair but also completely ridiculous considering the Eggheads can (IMHO) boast two of the UK's top ten quiz players. In my real-life existence, I'm an occasional player on a very strong quiz league team in London (we won the league this year, finishing above Kevin Ashman's team) - we've applied twice for Eggheads (the second time at the producers' specific invitation!) and never got anywhere near the show. So play down your quiz strength and perform like muppets at the audition, is what I'd say!

Maybe we should put together a team of actual Muppets based on our Fruitchat personas - I'd be Statler and Waldorf of course!
