Paint The Town Red

Post by Triton »

Hi all,

This classic Red has just turned up near me, has anyone got any info on it ?
have searched the forums but not found anything.

It's got 'Wipeouts' 'Reel Blasts' 'Nudges' etc.. on the board aswell as a dodgy Disco feature thing

Cheers

How come every single machine has "just turned up" near you? <laugh>

And they're all old?

did Doctor Who open up an arcade near you that transported here from 5 years ago?

Lol, there not all old, but we don't get em as quick up here i think.

Have got a DOND 'The power of 5' in a local, but the rest seem to be pretty dated as far as new machines go.

This particular machine is in an a Welfare club so could explain why so old, it's in there along with the 'Diamond mine i posted about on another thread.

I think/thought lock and load had a tricky emptier to do with a playing method? Don't know if this one did too.

Streak could be very expensive, I think you could pretty much learn what the feature would spin next with high accuracy, and collecting at this point, banking lots of small wins could build up a sizeable bank and profit.

yeah that's the pic mate, but not sure about the playing method? it was backing from the start the other day but didn't have a lot of playing cash but really seemed to be playing well.

pretty sure the LAL empty didnt work on this. You just had to bash all numbers on nudges. So if your on five nudges on an 8 and its 6 for jp. Go lower! fifty fifty used to come in. That was the basics of it anyway.
Dont try and force these. Saw some students trying to force a Lock i was waiting for back in the day. He put over 200 in and walked warning me how shite the machine was and not to play it. I chuckled to myself :D

What was the empty on LaL then? I only had one about 3 years back, and didn't really play it (as I wasn't in the know, lol!).
I've never really been a fan of any of Reds 'Board' style games (although I did like Critical Mass!) And I guess by the fact that the majority of their games are hi/lo based, I think a lot of others agree... ;)

The empty was like i said. Just bash all numbers when jp was the next gamble. If the reels were set badly you would try to get features or anything else that gave a win! There was a toggle climb feature and a skill feature that you had to hit 12 on for jp. You could tell good ones as they paid out slow. Bet there are some still about!! :D

What other Reds have board-style features instead of just hi-lo?

Does my head in being killed first gamble on the bloody hi-lo ones all the time, especially bloody Bling Bling and Subzero!

Thumper: Ah, I see... ;)

Other Red games that were 'board based' were:

Lock and Load
Critical Mass
Some other one with lots of '$' signs on it. ;)
There was also another one, called Big Top or something I think, and it was easily Reds worst ever game!
