astra patry games plasma software update

Post by mexl »

hi, im new to this forum, i have a problem updating the software on a "party games plasma" 4player sit down type machine. with integrated IO3 boards, software currently installed is on version 1.02 but needs to be updated to 4.01. i got the eproms from astra and fitted to slave machines and adjusted jumpers on the mpu to 2x 4meg proms (as instructed in manual). all 4 slave machines wont initalise and are just constantly resetting again and again when the new eproms are fitted. ive tried 3 sets of eproms 2 from astra and 1 from our own service dept but all give the same problem. astra technical have no idea why they dont work, any help or ideas would be appreciated, thanks

Have you updated the software in the top box as well as slaves?

hi thanks for the reply.
yes, top box updated no problem, new version top box software was written onto 2x2meg eproms (so no adjustment to mpu jumpers were required as the old software was also written onto 2x2meg eproms) and a replacement pc was also fitted, when i powered it up and the top box went into demo mode + i got a red led followed by a green led on the mpu.

the problem only occured when i installed the new slave software into the slave machines and adjusted jumpers to 2x4meg eproms (as instructed in manual and confirmed by astra tech dept) then all 4 slave machines just reset continusly when powered up.

on power up i get a red led on the mpu for about 5/10seconds then it goes off (a power disconnection noise can be herd through the speakers) and then after a few seconds it comes back on and it does that continusly. its exactly the same as if the jumpers were set wrong, but ive checked the eproms they are written onto 2x4meg eproms.
