No bong from me, I was looking for Bob Holness in a radio production 6 years prior to the first film being made.
If the question had been who was the first actor then it would indeed have been a QI bong, as there was an American TV production 2 years prior starring Barry Nelson.

nope, they actually published that it was 2' taller than their data suggested

ah I remember this now. It was because they measured it to an exact number (8800 metres or something like that) and didn't think anyone would believe it fell so precicely so they stuck a 2 on the end

Pretty sure FSM's right - the measured height was 29,000 feet exactly.
