I find that ringing up the pub at two in the morning and asking for the money very therapeutic.

When it comes to police involvement, i've had the pleasure of being searched twice. Fortunately on both occasions the police were fine, but there is always the chance you'll come across a cop who has you marked guilty until proven otherwise. Funnily enough on both occasions my lifestyle made for a good talking point..!

Frustrating that you can be made to feel guilty for going about your day to day, legit, business.

I agree that (toolers aside) none of us are doing anything illegal.

I do, however, think that calling it "day to day legit business" may be pushing it a tad :D

Agree with Rude . i have a pub where the landlady thinks i have a serious gambling problem , this pub is really struggling for trade and she says if things dont pick up she will have to leave in the next few weeks, i have promised her a pool team and a darts team in the new season 6 weeks from now ... why ? the reason is this she has a p2 winstopper and a power5 unchipped in the same pub i must have took the place for 2k at least and i honestly feel guilty about it , she cant of made a penny and of course this pool team will never exsist.

i did this as the last 2 weeks she started to get suspicions and told me they havent made anything but she knows a couple of the locals play it a lot and never win especially on the p5 suprise suprise.

although its not illegal it certainly at a push is morally wrong although the bastard and greediness inside me makes me return every 3 days or so and promise her the earth with false statements of hope, she really believes i am going to do this but i had to to keep her onside.

is that wrong? in my opinion yes... would like to type more but i have a p5 and a winstopper to deal with !!!

I have been in this position before 20 in 60 out collect landlady comes over what have you been doing,Nothing luv why? Machine has never payed out like that,Well it has now,Well i am calling the police,Call them then,So i sit down with my half 10 mins later police arrive hello sir we have reason to believe you have been stealing from the fruit machine,No sir i put in 20 pound it went to the top gave me 50pound then i won 10 afterwards collected my money landlady came over and hurled abuse at me i have done nothing wrong.Ok would you mind emptying your pockets (not a problem) 68 coins keys and phone.Landlady says he put something in the cash tray police frisk me and find nothing.I told them it was my hand i put in to collect my money.(Turning Point) Well Officer they have cctv i am quite happy for anyone to watch this to prove my innocence.Police spoke to landlady came back to me sorry sir has been a large spate of theft recently and we have to follow up all cases not a problem i replied even the landlady said sorry.I now go in there fairly regular and change a few notes at the bar even when i dont need the coins when you are labeled a player and hit a mc its the regulars who dont like it complain next thing you are barred its your own greediness that draws the attention i have only played for 30 years and this is the only problem i have ever had.

Uplifting story Mr Cheese :)

I've been accused of being a thief before and threatened with the Police, so I actually called the police first and got all the money back from the fruity that landlord mugged off me ( I could have pressed charges, but it was xmas eve, last thing you want (is a quiz:P) is to give a statement when you've been hanging around outside the pub waiting for the police to turn up. for 20 mins or so )
