There's some bloody awful gash turnip tripe poop on the Triple 7 box.
It's called Hammer Horrer Top Trumps.
I can't suss out of it's a lo-tech masquerading as a hi-tech, or just a lo-tech with a hi-techy style feature.
Anyway it claims to be compensated, but then you can't believe everything you read can you?
Now. Now then. Now then. Now then. Now then. Settle down. Now then.
<<puffs on cigar>>
Right. I put the best part of forty whole pounds in, whilst playing on a mixture of £1/50p and 25p. I got about 35p out in the end.
The game was so soul destroying that I aborted half way through (I was originally going to waste £80).
When I first got the feature off a fiver or so, on the mid stake, I thought waheey! some leprechauns drenched in blood will spin around and a coffin will open up underneath an old oak tree with yellow ribbon tied around it and a mouldy old fiver will pop out at the end of the rainbow.
No, in actual fact you play Top Trumps. Aha! I thought, the top trumps name is actually coming into its element here.
Then some things which Trayhop would probably recognise popped up. Hammer Horror monsters drenched in garlic, blood and religious iconography. There were fear factors, number of ghouls scored home/away, blood ratings blah blah blah etc.
I had something like a Bonecrusher with a fear factor of 98 and I guessed it right. So it goes on, each guess awards extra cash/or bonus and when you guess a facet correctly, you get a whoopla for the facet on a thing which can give you streak for the first set of whooplas, super streak if you get the next set of whooplas and mega for guessing all whooplas correct (there's about 8 whooplas/factes for each and every card). All clear? Good.

NO mean feat, in fact bloody impossible. About third go after lots of screaming and losing on Battleaxe/TOT ear piercing curdles I had a fear factor of 92 and deciding FF was the way to go, even though I was at mega streak advancement (only need to guess the other seven or so facets, all correctly, another three times), the thing I was up against a superdraculavampmcbloodsuckeratron had a fear factor of 99 which meant I lost my cashpot (£3.32) and had to go back to sleep.

Sorry if that's about as clear as King Rollover explaining reverse ding prophylaxis, so I'll make it clear for you.

"Hammer Horror Top Trumps on Barcrest Triple 777 is devoid of gameplay and it feels like it'd be really hard to win over a fiver, even if you put in £100 without collecting a bean, that's if you had the option to collect a bean."

Bear in mind I've got over 20 years of gaming experience under my belt (£2 from ASDA, it's real fake leather as well) My hunches are normally right. Or nearly right, not wrong. You can get different shades of rightness.

Reasonable graphics though. Feature entry is Del's Millions. Get three cameras along or four cameras up. Except it's not cameras. It's bloody Top Trumps cards. In view counts, but it's still shit. Holds can be offerred but it's always just one hold so you never get more than two up and have to hope you get the other one or two for three along.

Super concise

"Del's Millions is a better game than Hammer Horror Top Trumps and you'll probably win more on the £6 token board than on this £70 bullcrap"

Mega concise

"I bet I could put £400 in Hammer wotsit refuse everything and it'd still be giving me £3 cashpots on the £1 stake and then mugging me off even though I'd have a fear of 98, the other dick would have 99. It's like going lower than a 98 and getting 99. Basically this is pants and because it's on a digital screen they think they can program it to be extra crap and just not pay out like a proper reel based compensated game"

Hyper concise

"C"

Code C = Don't play Hammer Horror Top trumps.

The subliminal message in this posting is don't play Hammer Horror Top Trumps.

I've played £70 STC, SW, RR, DDND myself now, it's not going to be all £210 tops is it? Still waiting to see GMs and what they'll be like.
They are so bloody cagey. You feel relieved to get it off £62 and that's on 92%
It's going to be hyper tight blocks ahoy. No more gambling on a 3 up to superhold and getting Duffs on the win line for £15.

do the monster stats change next time you encounter them????

because if they dont you could have a potential empty by writing down the stats for each of em

cant be that simple surely ???

JG edit: Nope, the machine's card is turned over, it is only flipped over when you select one of the attributes. Bonus can let you get a sneaky peak of the monster itself, but that relies on knowing the stats, something I don't think would give enough of an edge to be worth bothering with. You have to guess two right for +cashpot then you get a bonus, which'll probably be add 40p to cashpot. Absolute garbage.
Little discipline = BIG issue

i can't wait to see the new barcrest reel based P.O.G ,i say reel based but there are none on the bottom glass, the whole bottom glass is dedicated to stupidity ,it's just the win plan for all stakes.the reels are on the top glass, all 4 of them, can't really tell you alot more ,cept it's got all your favourite rainbow riches symbols .3 winlines and 3 rainbows award freespins, it looks equally as strange as hold your horses :| although it is nothing like hyh.

i think you'll see a lot of awp weirdos popping up for a while yet ,till they realise they are pissing in the wind with them.

*edit* i looked on crests site to try and get a pic ,but it is not even on their tbc releases yet! it's in the new catalogue they've been sending round ,i spose i could take a photo of a photo and upload it but feck it ,a sh*t pic of a sh*t game is all you'd get. :|

Here is what i have seen and tried money in today on £70

Hi-lo

£95 top from £50
Playing £1 spins gives super add on entry
Board costs about the same
Strangely this one has no 50p play
It has 25p/£1
Playing 25p would still mean £70jp it would seem

Terminator new Red

Looked very dead so left it

Italian job :P

See other thread spawned a £70 box after shit offers

Dream factory

£1 play doubles numbers in view
A few boards were ok tbh
Still not great though
No MS on reel so most is £70

Big Reds :P

Oh yes this has the upgrade too
£13 for a board managed to get 4 cash strikes which gave £25
Which i was suprised at
Again no MS just £70 from the DOND game

Break The Bank

£1 now is everything starts red
£20 box after about that invested

Think Reds (new DOND)

Big Reds clone
Just the same really lost a few quid on this

New BFM Monoploy Boom Or Bust

Has the monopoly board as its feature board
Interesting thing on this, is when going around you light amounts up that are in the DOND equivalent game
Then on landing on a ? you can COB or Go To Auction
Going to auction means you play the DOND style game from the amounts you lit
I had £2 £6 £15 and another not sure now
Took out the big ones straight away and £2 was in the box
Pretty poor tbh another one sadly that we have to endure

Crazy Chair

£3 in £3 out lol
Losing interest at this point
I think this did have MS on reel

Couple of RR/SW

As others have said not good

Family Guy

Did not touch it
Again dont think MS was up there

And also saw a Deal Wheel on £70
And a Double Deal or No Deal on £70

So not good most is old shit upgraded
And again the amount of playables is very small :(

I don't know about you, but I've never seen that many women (who weren't 60+) playing a fruit machine...

That video is laughably shit, and just shows how out of touch GM and other manus etc are. NO ONE WANTS VIDEO AWP!! Why do you think 'The Player' cabinets never really took off? Why do all the juice terminals not last in venues? Because they are awful. The games are far worse than anything you get on an analogue AWP

Why did quicksilver lose a huge percentage of custom when brought out by Aussies a while back? Because they thought they knew best, took out all fruits, and replaced them with video crap. Did it work? No....and they are going cap in hand back to basics now, slowly re-introducing fruits, soon to be up to £70JP. Clueless.

As for the guy at the end....well. Actor anyone? Since the new pots have come in hes been playing a lot more? What a whole 5 days!? Wow! Well done mr actor! Bet he's got no JPs yet either

Like someone else said, they are just giving themselves more rope to hang themselves with.

There's been a sea change in gaming.

The quizzers/"skill" games are the new AWP's, small stake for a bit of amusement.

Fruits are actually pretty serious gambling machines for most people, and to make things worse most people can never win on them.

I thought you'd all appreciate that video!

I agree - that bloke at the end did look very suspect!

"I can't wait to do my nuts in a Double Beard or No Beard... what, 1p in my box again? Amazing!"

I've yet to see a Juice cabinet here (Surrey) on my travels. I'd probably have a couple of quid to see if I could pay for my pint, if I saw one, but nothing more than that. Video is just not the same. The "Reel2Video" Cabs - Monopoly and Cops & Robbers - are a happy medium if you ask me. Just a shame the games are so crap!

i read recently in an article interviewing top industry bods that the companies making these video based fruits are 100 % committed to ensuring their success ,i think it was one of games mediocres top boys who had the most to say on the subject.

i think the combination of reels AND video screen could be a better option for them ,you'd think they'd have learned by now that people like reels better ffs ,you only need to look at matt b's earlier example and the ammount inspired lost on them too.i know not many players rated bellfruitless's recent c+r reels to video but it must have been popular with somebody coz it stayed in the industry charts for quite a while as did their other one which i can't remember the name off the top of my head :o ops:

having a screen aswell does open a lot of new doors for feature innovation undoubtably ,but clearly it's a wrong move at the moment trying to phase reels out when they should be concentrating their efforts on some decent new machines .

There are a couple around semi outskirty pubs in Houv. They often have problems with touchscreens being out of sync, slow response times etc which wouldn't help entice punters.
I know in the arcades they didn't do well, I'm guessing the pub side of things is similar. I'm not quite sure why, apart from those technical issues I mention. Comparing the early analogue s16s with video s16s, the video s16s were far more popular.
However with cat C/D, it seems the reverse applies, in the arcades anyway.

Yep, as I say - I do like the Reel2Video concept... and when I've had the top feature on Monopoly (Road To Riches?) Reel2Video, it's very nice seeing it in a Rainbow Riches "Off weee go thenn!" stylee... and with the same with the smaller streaks too. It does add a bit and look nice! :P

But fruities on a glorified ITBox - no thanks, ta!
