Two players have told me they've definitely played a P5, both with the same evidence its not a P4. Doesn't seem to be widespread though, so possible one supplier could have a custom chip? Either that or the majority of suppliers are happy with the P4 and aren't in any rush to update them.
In no way am I declaring this lore but I was under the impression that there usually are a couple of different programs at the beginning. But surely barcrest would not waste their time creating endless versions of the same unit...
Unless it was a major cost for design, very popular and they had nothing else to produce. Saying that any patches they make could be worked on by more than one person so net result in play would differ.
Maybe someone here, 'with their own unit/company' could ask barcrest what updates are available?
...as an extra thing I have played a unit that can be great sometimes, then horrid another. I assume the p5 was deduced from multiple visits/full knowledge of if any one else is doing it/etc etc?

I've had it go hint 0 what was on a p4/p5 or what ever(so don't corner). Now they have put a p3 program back in it the unit, what the fuck is all that about?
