How have you paid for £200 worth of 'stuff' at a self service till?
What have you bought?
My local supermarket only allows baskets to go through the self service tills. Unless you bought a load of videogames, DVD's or electrical items....maybe you grocery shop at night, I don't know.
Feel free to call me a tw@t for asking you a legit question - this seems to be the norm these days on most threads, as blingkings' original post has manifested into a bitchfest...........AGAIN.
Anyone had a bank acc closed on them?
2 ps3 games and a £20 phone top up, plus a weeks shopping... total to just over £200ma71lda wrote:How have you paid for £200 worth of 'stuff' at a self service till?

plus there is no limit to what you can spend/ring up on the tills, i bought my laptop on a self serve till, it cost £400 paid in cash , all in notes though, didnt tell me to call for attendant /etc, but did anyway after paying and it going through, assumed it would be tagged.... it was... lol
there are "rips" on tesco tills, but due to any legal reason im not putting them on fruitchat, they are all blatent theft, but loopholes in the tills allowing you to do them even when someone is watching,
did anyone hear about the self service tills not asking for a pin on a credit card when they were first installed? lol that was f'ing crazy! nick someones cards and do the whole limit on stuff at tesco, lol

If you get stopped in a supermarket chain by a manager
Stay calm and polite
a) Tell him/her that you will be contacting their head office as you've been shopping here for xx years (insert any number you like).
Ask for their name in writing. They will not want this to go higher.
b) That you will be contacting the local trading standards department to complain.
c) That your brother/aunt/anybody works for the local newspaper and would love to write a story about this.
ps Ensure that your car isn't full of toolers gear, bars, L&F keys, etc.

trayhop123 wrote:peter , some of your points are valid, we can all agree that much,
however its obviously more than that for you, more than healthy debate, ,,,, you just want to argue for arguments sake, to antagonise people for your own entertainment ,
i could ask you to leave of your own accord, but wont bother as you'll just throw me another torrent of abuse,
in conclusion your very sad and pathetic, so i think it best we open up a petition in vip to get you out, you have antagonised enough of us to sign it. admin will sort you out.
oh i know what your thinking, multiple ip addresses /change of name etc, and you will be back on ,but people will recognise its you by your posts, because you simply arnt capable of controlling yourself and will slip up by your insults/remarks etc
in the meantime i call upon all fruitchaters to completely ignore him from this point in time, no matter what he says to you, no matter the insult, no matter the topic, just totally blank him from this point on, after all,
if none of us acknowledges that he even exists, and dont fuel his fire, he will have no choice but to eventually leave out of boredom, if one of you talks to him from this point on your just loading his gun ,,,,,,,,, and his ego
Good afternoon
Thankyou for your very kind words its very nice to be so well thought of.
I am terribly sorry we are not seeing eye to eye on all subjects but wouldnt life be dull if we did .
I will of course not expect a response to this post as per your comments.
Regardless of this rather childish action i will still be around and no I wont get bored and yes I will still relay my thoughts wherever I see fit.
Re: Anyone had a bank acc closed on them?
back on the original point.blingking wrote:I have had a nat west acc for the last 10 years or so, used for paying bills. DD and rent standing orders etc.
Not really paid coins in as my savings are in an acc that dont belong to me for various reasons, but to pay my bills and stuff i still put £1k - £2k a month in coins until i was spoken to by the manager about 3 months ago and asked where do i get all this money from. Well i explained it was just savings that i was using to pay my bills. I asked if there was a problem and told that if i continue to pay this amount into my account it would cause problems. But if you check my acc you will see £1500 going in each month to cover bills of £1500 each month with no more than £2000 in the acc at any time.
I was told there is no limit to the amount of coins or notes i put in my acc but if i continue this way then i will have a problem!
WTF!!!!!
So from then on i always changed most of my coins in Barclays and put notes in my acc. Then my partner went to put £600 in coins in my nat west acc to cover my rent but she was refused, and told that no money was to be accepted into this account as she could not explain as to how she got the coins. She said it wasnt her acc and was not aware of where the coins came from.
Well since then i made a complaint via phone to nat west complaints dept that told me they shouldnt refuse me and that also if i was being investigated for money laundering then they shouldnt have told me, which they told me on several occasions i was laudering money! I thought laundering money was possibly £10k or £100k a time, not £1500 a month to pay bills?
Anyway, i got the 30 day notice now so i cant even make a complaint! NICE ONE! Well done Nat West! Great service!
I wouldnt mind but it was only in the last year i was refused an upgrade on my acc for not having enough money going through it!
I lost my acc for attempting to put coins in, and yet it wasnt even me that tried to put the money in?
Anyone else had shit with banks like this?
BTW, my rent didnt get paid as i didnt get the money in on time! Now i somehow have to explain what is going on! fuck this shit!
Why didn't you just tell the truth in the first place. Any unusual activity and the bank has a legal responsibility to ask questions. If they don't they face heafty penalties from the FSA.
It is quite common for money to be laundered by approaching people who've been having financial difficulties and offering them money to pass cash through their accounts. Usually you're talking about people with basic cash card acccounts who have difficulty with bills, small business people who have accounts that run in overdraft most of the time and students who struggle to budget. The bad guys might for example sell £1000 worth of coins for £800 of notes. The Launderer pays the coins into the account and uses it to pay bills and the bad guy gets large notes instead of coins.
Say I made my living breaking into pubs and clubs up and down the country and smashing open cigarette machines and fruit machines. I might find myself with thousands of £1 coins. I might get rid of those coins by using an unemployed guy struggling to keep him bank account up to date.
The bank has asked you a perfectly reasonable question. Instead of answering truthfuly and clearing up their concerns you've been obstructive and deceptive and caused them to think their concerns are not unfounded.
