Fruiter, I'm originally from Skelmersdale then I moved away and returned between 2000 - early 2005. Now I'm back in Gtr M/cr.

I still pass through now and again and the last time I did both Harry's Bar and the Orange House had a Vortex. Its good to see the Showboat still has has its VIU, even though its proper covered and it auto-pays. I don't know how old you are but I remember that place having a Reel 'em In, a WWTBAL, an Addams Family, a ToT,a QOTD and an Aftershock all in a row, with a Duff Beer Guide opposite them. :D

Is the arcade near the market still open along with the KINGS next to the 'Spoons? No doubt if they are they've both gone downhill, its good to hear the other arcades re-opened too, hopefully it still has the Hellraiser, the Cop the Lot and the King Kebab - but I doubt it.

One area I never visited was Robin Park, did I miss owt? Nor did I visit Laserquest either. Although the inhabitants speak a little different to myself, Wigan is actually a very decent place. :D

Kai - Yes i'd be up for a meet, i work from home so can get into town pretty much anytime!

Harry - Unfortunately it's only £5 JP but still good for a profit! The first day it came in it gave the reds within a fiver for £58! It nearly always goes £40+.

ma71lda - I used to always go the Orange house it's a decent place and has always had a good selection, Harry's bar is ok too, apart from the constant over crowding with alco's!

The 3 bigger arcades (showboat and 2x kings) were all owned by one pikey family who had a break up a couple of years back and went their seperate ways... One brother took on showboat and the other took Kings next door to the Spoons and the one near the market, the market one is still open but the bigger one near spoons closed last monday, they're turning it into a bookies!

All the machines in the station arcade (J&M leisure) have been changed, there's only 4 hi-techs on 30p which are JJ, VIU, Hot Shot & Most Daunting. There are quite a few £5's including the classic Gridrunner, Monopoly, Sub zero and a few others. The rest in the main section are just a mix of multi-players, lo-techs and £500's, some of which are well wortha punt though!

(Refill days are thursdays, just incase you decided to visit!)

Down the robin park end of town there's nothing apart from a coupla machines in the Red Robin (2-4-1) but i'm barred from there :o ops:

There is another arcade up in Pemberton, it used to be good in there but i was barred a few years back for 'winning too much'
