Favourite all-time classic!

Post by Martal~Wombat »

for me it would have to be cloud999
what a roll these had! and so obvious when they started nudge-holding...
they just don't make 'streaks' like this anymore :(

2p gotta be ratrace, win-a-gain or fruit cracker
10p probably line up
20p any of the old jpm's coaster/s.ladders etc

havent got a single all time favourite martin, tooooo hard to decide

but rat race comes closest simply because, for me its where it all began,,,,,,, walking home having gambled bus fare home anyone? ,,,,,,,, special times

There are so many to choose from, but I'll go for £6 Reno Reels

Not the best or most profitable system I ever had, but I had no income (was a student back then), but I did have 2 Reno Reels in arcades. I used to do them twice a week and they lasted for a good 6 months.

betch m8, learning curve indeed, we all had to lose everything many times over in the old days ,,,, it prepared us for the future, and we respect the money we have now more

yts 29.50 ,,,,,, 1pm fri ,,,,,,,,,,,2pm going home skint ,,,,,,,, waiting a whole week with fuck all in ya pocket

thank fuck we met the right contacts ,,,,

if i made 6quid in those days it was a major achievement ,,,, 1.99 mastertronic cbm64 game, 50p burger, 35p bus fare home and stil got a 3quid float for tomorrow

now 6quid dont get you a board

now although it stil hurts we can look at £100 losses and laugh it off,,,,,,
back then i would have been suicidal :P

I remember the £4.80 Ace system needed you to have £20-£30 just incase the machine had just rolled and needed buzzing up.

Yes, I remember when I first started. A £5 profit after a night out was a "decent victory"

i can remember when only 20 quid down was a decent victory!
fond memories of cloud999 too, getting that nudge where you could go for jp hold chance with nothing else there  ,a fantastic machine for turning tokens into cash.
favourite from those good old days for me was force 5 ,loved repeating 2.40 to 16.80-19.20 ,also great for turning tokens into cash. i had one you could put a penny glued to an old 5p in for a quid credit  lol.

I remember when I was told a rumour about how to force the streak on the cloud 999s.
Unfortunately, they weren't too popular by the time I found out, but I knew where a couple were.
WOW! They did work. It was a plugger, but you only needed to plug it 2 or 3 times to empty them.

That year I went on holiday to Blackpool and found one in an arcade just off the seafront. 1st credit I had an opportunity to force the roll so I took it. Stuck another couple of quid in and soon had the bank up to £30. pressed collect and out came a roll of paper tokens that could be exchanged for gifts (think I had enough for pencil or something rubbish). The arcade owner definitely knew what he was doing by putting the cloud 999 where he did and ensuring all it could pay out was useless paper. Gutted!
