low tech takes more (lots more)money for the operator, and from a business point of view it's somewhat obvious as to why arcades these days are full of low techs.
as for emptiers i think its about even on the north vs south . i personally only get hold of stuff rarely nowadays and most of the time there aint the relevant machines in the viscinity :x

I may not agree with the North v. South bit - but the rant in general was mildly amusing :)

If you're in this game to make money via emptiers, manipulators and general craftiness, then it really is a case of 'who-you-know'; if not, you're likely to get everything second-hand and you'll have usually missed the boat by the time you gain the knowledge.

As a Londoner, I'm conscious that a lot of stuff seems to come from established players both here and along the south coast. But equally there's plenty being worked on 'oop naarth'.

Remember no-one has a divine right to learn of an emptier, and who wouldn't switch a loss-making machine off if it was being emptied on their premises?
This machine may at times offer a choice where the player has every chance of bankruptcy

Rechips where I live seem to get done in two or three days of receiving any info. Doesn't help having a Leisure Link depot one mile away.
