New Re-makes Of Old Machines

Post by HornyNick »

Since it looks like Psycho Cash Beast 2 is gonna pass test, I thought I would ask the obvious question : which machines from back in the day would you like to see remade?

For me it would have to be Spiker the Biker or Temple of Treasure.

I know im gonna get flamed with people saying that we should move on or leave classic machines alone but well...........

well I was a fan of old globals so would love £35 versions of Stairway to Heaven, pheonix knights, cannobal run, high spirits, got a feeling though they wouldnt feel the same though at £35 jackpot, probably play like games media machines.

Would quite like a £35 lucky strike or yabba dabba darts, or maybe a vamp it up clone, if were going down the re making older machines line.

I havent actually seen phycho beast 2 yet, dont play much these days, but would probably have to put a few quid through it just because of the first one. How does it play ? (streakwise?)

I personally would like to see some of the old machines with a old style feature trail remade, such as Magnificent 7, las vegas strip, roller coaster, winner takes all, the big breakfast etc etc.

But not sure how well it would work these days, I have not seen pcb2 yet but "open the box" ruined what was a awesome machine in "take you pick"

Sadly, those trail-to-top games as you say 'probably' wouldn't work nowadays, chiefly because of the size of the JP now. You'd need an extremely long trail (oo-er!) to make it worthwhile.

Red have tried it in a very poor way with their Snakes n Ladders game, albeit it's just a sub-feature of the main game, and involves hi/lo gambles as opposed to dice rolling.

You'd have a lot of 'looping' going on, whereby you get to a square or two before a decent win, and the next roll will move you back to near the bottom again.

Would love to see something that worked, but can any of the current manufacturers pull it off?

Anyway, for me, I'd probably like to see a remake of ToT, but have a worrying feeling that it would end up like the remake of Take Your Pick - Open The Box, which has the harshest hi/lo gambles of most recent machines!

I was always a JPM fan, and I know Red* produce 'similar' machines, but some true re-vamps of classics like Impulse, or Caesar's Palace would be fantastic.

*Was the rumour that JPM's programmers were the founders of Red Gaming true, or just something I misheard? :|

A £35 Pie Factory wouldn't go amiss ;)

I'd like to see Temple of Treasure and Party Animal remade too - and of course I'd welcome back pretty much any old JPM.
This machine may at times offer a choice where the player has every chance of bankruptcy

The problem with bringing back all the old machines is the features that use to be able to give you a quick JP (and making the machine enjoyable), such as up pompei or roman reels on cesarsor half the top features on rollarcoaster would have to be blocked to the extent that the fun would go out the machine, otherwise a quick JP of these would leave the machine so boringly unplayable the other 95% of the time.

A bottom to the top trail game could work, as there are older club machines that use this for £250 jp's. Where the top sqaure only normally pays some rubbish win series for £40+ (although the poor 'big top' is only one that springs to my mind, but I am sure there are others).

a sizeable chunk of the industry is pushing for a bigger prize offering on cat d machines , if these plans could be realised a return of everybodies old favs would seem more interesting as they could play the same with no blocks "needed"
pubs could roll them in license free , and the punters would return to the days when it was possible to get a result with their beerchange.
