Which UK town is reputedly (IE not really) named after Merlin, of King Arthur fame?

Can't think of any towns with Merlin in the name.
But since all that shenanigans went on in Somerset (or did it?), I'm going to guess ....

Nope, not Frome.
First clue: Ask you have correctly surmised, the name "Merlin" does not actually appear in its current form in the name of the town in question. But bear in mind we're talking 1500 years ago here.
