I've been a newbie on boards before and know well enough folks get slammed for asking daft questions... but I cant seem to find the answer anywhere else, so here goes.
I'm new to fruities and I'm trying to figure out the purpose of the boxes that are behind certain symbols on a reel. If you get three on a winline does it give you a feature?
I know machines with trails have numbers that move you along by X if they are on a winline (or in view on larger stakes) is it similar for these unexplained "boxes"?
If this is a daft question I will take the flames on the chin, but if someone could post the answer too that would be great!
Cheers.
Reel sybol question
Usually it'll either award a mystery win OR you'll get a choice of (usually six) hidden features by pseudo dapple, skill select, code cruncher or random picka.
The features can range in usefulness by quite a degree. For example on Bully's Star Prize, we're talking around £4 for a feature. On Spin on it, nearly all (if not all) features were jackpot capable. So it's horses for courses, snails for pails, bloops for loops, that kind of thing.
For example you might have
1-2-3 (that's press, hold one, hold two, hold three) Skill bonanza. This is a feature that involves a metered reflex skill dapple on the LED cash alpha. Usually £3.60 to £6+repeat.
1-3-2 Fast Money - a timed pseudo skill dapple on the coin lamps from the cherries up to the gold level. Usually £3-£15 depending on skill.
2-1-3 Can climber - Offers three time shot on each can, starting at the 50p bronze level to the psuedo shot on the gold for the £35, only pays £35 if flying. Must be £2 happy to get to silver. Good when it's there.
2-3-1 Sub zero - A rapid fire drop zone quick hit skill feature that can be jackpot ready if you know the trick on the cancel, hard to get but if you're good, £35.
3-1-2 Win spiller - A combination of winning cherries in spun in to the centre bank. All wins are accumulated and highest cherry paid only. Usually get golds on the middle, so take that if given a choice, mostly £10+ on this one, good judgement needed if all three potting.
3-2-1 Big bars - Knockout the flash take the winking buttons to advance along the treasure trail. Increments of two if super, proceed to Mayfair if you can, but expect around £6 for two minis.
On Red's Toggle Woggle, the numbers are reversed and hot numbers go wither way. Only shuffle in gold nudges for the 'proper' boxes not the fake wink boxes.
On Cleudo's Money suspects, Dr Black reincarnates, then you need to go 3-1-2 for What's in my clue? Take win stopper and hit the Wild on Noel's beard (?!) for maximum jackpot bonus.
On Pick a Vamp by IGT, take super win stopper for a flash onto bars, take that and it should still be holding after on pears, drop that in, nudge in mystery take upgraded super hold and the phones should be there for a quick win stopper on red.
Lastly on Superbirds by Extreme, hit the Doctor with the cardiogram, hold the bell +4 and you should get a free entry into the nurse. Repeat the ECG sequence backwards and take some laughing gas for a roll on nudge onto blues. Exchange into pear climber and turn the refill key exactly one, it'll hold for heads, so move back three for the last Pacman, make sure the trail is blue, hold down 1,3,5,7 coconut shy, plug it, take the trick bars, knock back the yellow board, gamble onto Good times, spark and strim it, look for >>>> get the taxi on a 12 and jump into next Tuesday.
And that's a quick guide on the old boxes.

Thanks for the reply's. So to get the features that JG details do you need to get 3 boxes on a winline or is it just that you need three "in view" on the reels?
I need to get "up to speed" on fruity's and all their little quirks... don't worry though if there's anyone from Gamcare reading this, I'm not planning to pump my mortgage into a surefire "method" to make me a zillionare!
Thanks again.
