It's very disappointing. It's also very unusual for ItBox to rejig things before a new release like this. I can only imagine someone had become sufficiently good to be able reliably to repeat-"JP" the game in question. I'd done that a few times, but always with a smidgen of luck, but as a general rule if I can do something occasionally, someone else in the SWP world is likely to be able to do it very consistently. I don't think it's anyone in London - I've "JP"ed the game in question sixty or seventy times in various venues around London (maybe more) and found no evidence of anyone consistently doing the same elsewhere in the London area. You guys may be interested to know that the game in question (which I never got the hang of at all in my old age!) has instead popped up on some of the large oval Gamesnets - the ones with that Big Reds DOND abomination.grecian wrote:I shan't name it publicly in case it suddenly comes back (fat chance) but it's pretty easy to work out by comparing old and new 55s.
As for your question about the old X Factor version, I have seen it once or twice but given the wide variety of ItBoxes you can find if you look, these sightings may have been on older versions. On that note one of my locals has a version 49 or 50, something like that, and it really is a reminder of how unremittingly bleak things were then, which was not so long ago - a truly dreadful set of games that all but ended my interest in quiz machines for good. Nowadays on the other hand I can Take or Leave them on the whole...
Quite. Only six months ago or so the best we could hope for was a 53, which really was rubbishy. So whilst TGP departing is a big blow, things are still far, far better than they were then, and I think the manufacturers do deserve a bit of credit for having released some quality games in recent months.Nil Satis wrote:a reminder of how unremittingly bleak things were then, which was not so long ago

Totally missed this one and am sure I'm not the only one. Had a few games and found it pretty dick dastardly from the off. Plus added Tarrant irritant. Still, I reckon 55 is still the best update yet and there's (finally) a good mix of games.QuizMaster wrote:It was the Frederick Bulsara game that went.
